We are so happy today, it's going to be a great weekend because we got AOR. It took us exactly one month!
Now, good luck to all March applicants!

Steler can you please update the info?
Medical's done December 11th

Hi everyone! I'm glad to see our spreadsheet is getting more colorful... :)

I have a couple of questions - I think I heard somewhere that the Manila VO does not send AOR - is this true?

Also, nothing in my ecas has changed since we got SA - for stage 1 it says "Decision Made" (SA sent by snail mail) and for stage 2 it still says "Application Received" "Your application for permanent residency was received on February 6, 2014." It doesn't mention medicals or anything. Is that normal? I've heard that the time they take to update these things, (if they update at all) varies from a few days to a few weeks.

Should I worry if my ecas stays exactly the same for several months?

Thanks in advance!

From annecdotal evidence, Ecas isn't the most updated - so people tend not to worry and rely on the email notifications/call center more. Some people's don't change for a long time even though things are moving in the background - it's not a true reflection of the status always.

hey kayaker- have you called CIC? they're pretty good about providing an update - and in your case, sounds like you need one!

At least your Stage 1 says Decision Made! I got my SA March 10. It says it sent me a letter. But it still says In Process.

For the medicals, it varies. Some people get it right away (like me) and some people get it very late in the process. I'm not sure as to why...

Congrats Panos30! Hopefully Roma is on fire this year!!!

Could you tell me what update/news should we have by now that we don't?

The SA letter we got in early March was our latest development so far...

I notice your VO is Manila, I applied in August nothing from VO.
First thing many receive is PPR or additional docs. Just to give you some idea many from May and June receiving PPR now. Right now it seems to be a
10month wait for any word from Manila.

Thanks, Step!

So months of no news is normal for Manila... oh well. Hopefully I will get bored of being stressed and start forgetting about it :P

hey everybody body. I'm new to this very infomative forum and I'm really greatful that i found this topic. I've got a question, how long does it take to receive SA after getting AOR? I'm being sponsored by my mom. Application was received on the 26th of Feb and we got the AOR on the 21st of March. We haven't heard anything from them since then, is this normal? i didn't under upfront medicals because the whole process will take about 21months. could this be the cause of the delay? please reply

thanx

Quite often, the SA is on the same day as AOR or within a week. However, it may take over a week for ecas to update, or for you to get an email or letter from them. In our case, they emailed us the AOR but sent us SA by mail and we received it about 2 weeks after AOR.

I don't think the medicals affect the first stage (SA) because the first stage is about the sponsor (your mom) not you.
