Question:

What is the difference between AOR I and sponsorship approval?

AOR 1 is when on cic website it shows that your application was received on such an such date right? Then what is sponsorship approval?

Is when it says decision has been made and then file is transferred?

aor is the acknowledgement of receipt - so the first email/letter you get to state when CIC got your application.

SA or sponsorship approval is the second notification (email/letter, but seems to be more letter than email!) which says you have been approved as a sponsor. In my case, I haven't received any emails and ECAS (the online system) hasn't been updated to show 'approved' but it does say Decision made (DM), but the CIC call center advised of my SA / transfer when I called them. She said my letter was put in the post to advise of the decision - now, I did leave an email address on my application, but it seems hit and miss with then! No biggie really.

Everyone here is a friendly bunch - any questions or concerns - fire away!

If your eCAS says Medical Results have been received, then your Sponsor has definitely been approved. In that SA letter, it would say that your file is now on its way to New Delhi. But the actual letter can take a long time to receive so if you got AOR on March 21, it's still in the mail. Your file is in fact on its way to ND.

Welcome to the group and good luck with your application. I already added you in the spreadsheet. It is not open to everybody to edit it because we don't want that a random person delete all the work, so everyday I check the forum and I edit it, it is a pleasure for me to do it.
When you receive the second email from CIC is the SA, you can also get a mail for the SA.

Hey guys! Just curious - did anyone in this thread send in their applications without doing the medical upfront? If so, when you got your SA, was there a note on there telling you to do the medical ASAP?

Thanks for doing this. I just want to confirm something. I got email (my first AOR) on March 20th but it says online that they received my application on February 21st. So, AOR date would obviously March 20th or 21st correct, not February 21st, correct?

I should be getting another email soon that means. Actually I am going to call now and ask is everything ok!

We've just got SA, according to the letter our file has been transferred to Rome, March 31th.
So far all is going smoothly and fast but now the real patience is beginning

Anyone know something about the users AthinaK or Squidleet? They haven't said anything about AOR or SA. It would be nice to have all the spreadsheet in colour
