maybe it's worth keeping the application in play and just keep ordering notes monthly? perhaps there will be more insight later down the road. have you received SA yet? I can't remember... I would also suggest contacting your MP, perhaps they can help you get better answers.

Yeah, she received her SA a while ago, and her file got transferred to LA after.

Hubby and I considered leaving our application going. . . but that's not going to work for several reasons

We have to start a US application which obviously is going to cost money.

When/If we decide to move into the states and start the process for there, We aren't going to move back into Canada for me to fulfill the mandatory years so I don't lose Canadian Permanent Residency.

It kinda boils down to money though, it's going to cost a bunch to move and immigrate my husband into the states and we can't pay for both that and the fees for Canadian Immigration. . . . which is quite the bummer.

Since they haven't really started processing my section of the application we're hoping to get a partial refund and put that towards the application for the states if we choose to go ahead with that plan.

We just received an email from Accra that hubby should send some information including our kids' birth certificate. He also received another email requesting that he complete medical examination. So I guess that is the acknowledgement? ECas is still showing "Application Received" for spouse though.

missmatalini, it's my understanding that even if you stayed outside of Canada after getting your PR, as long as you are with your hubby, those days count toward your residency obligation (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA). I've been following those applications that have been transferred to LA and although it is true that some are still waiting for over a year in some cases, others have received their PPR and COPR within the usual processing times. I do understand you are dealing with other factors but wanted to throw that out there since we all know how much time and effort you've spent putting that monster package together and sending it off to Mississauga with good faith. I have several friends who have received their GC through marriage and I believe most of them were able to get them within 6 months. Good luck with your decision.

If that IS the case, I'll definitely look into it more and discuss it with my hubby. It was breaking my heart that after everything, we were going to pull out and stop the processing, I'll see what he says. There is still a lot of money we have to put into it, for medicals and then the RPRF that we still haven't paid. . . so we'll really consider that now too! Thanks!

I really wish we had more people applying via the Pretoria VO, would love to get a better sense of processing times. Received second stage AOR a few weeks ago and feeling so impatient just like everyone else.

I believe that is one of the things the federal conservative government plans to eliminate sometime this year. See the summary of the proposed changes here: http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=832259

It's not clear to me if they are changing the idea of living with your spouse as being in Canada or not.

Ah, I didn't know that. Will keep an eye out on this. Thanks Beshoo.

There is nothing happening today?
Tuesday is the day of the action, when there are the most updates.
My application still in process :'( Since April 3th, it's been a lot of time already. I thought I was going to get it so much sooner, but I guess I can't complain if I compare my self to the others VOs

We just ordered our notes, hopefully get them soon along with some useful info.

I ordered mine friday too, just to make sure Moscow received our application. What sucks is my wife uses a like 200 year old scanner (lol), and the quality is really bad. It's the best we can do, though. Hopefully they accept the form ;\

I read a few times about "the notes" but I don't know what they are for. Can someone explain me a bit about it, please. Or somewhere that I can learn from
Thanks

I already found one threat very interesting about notes, where it explains everything about it:

I am starting this thread because of repeated enquiries on how to order latest CAIPS / GCMS and what forms we need to download. So here we go once for all. Many thanks.......

1) Sir Kanamen is doing it for free.

Sir Kanamen is offering CAIPS / GCMS for free. If some body wants to use him here is the link

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/caipesfree-offer-t88238.0.html

2) But if you want to order it on your own there are two ways.

a) If you have a friend / relative in canada it would cost you just $5 and you will get that in around 30 days.

b) If you don't have a relative or friend in Canada then you can get it from websites and it would cost around $25-$40 and you will get in six to eight weeks..

Check this

a) If you have a relative / friend in Canada

As you have a relative / friend there it would cost you just $5. Its very easy. Your relative / friend will order this on your behalf and he will be the requester. It can be done by email and your relative / requester can send scan copies of everything. Your relative / friend will receive CAIPS / GCMS notes in his email.

First fill the following form but your relative / friend will sign it as he is the requester.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf

Then you will have to fill this consent form and sign yourself

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5475E.pdf

Now according to latest IMM5563E form you can even pay fees online if you are not living in Canada and there is no need to fill any credit card form. Pay fees online, get receipt, fill it and then scan and attach with application. Its very easy. Go to section C of the following form then follow other links given below.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5563E.pdf (See section C)

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/index.asp

https://eservicesak.cic.gc.ca/epay/lineofbusiness.do

After payment take 2 copies of print out of receipt. Keep one copy for yourself and attach other with application.

Ask your relative to provide copy of his Canadian passport or PR card and copy of his recent bill or bank statement as a proof that he is currently living in Canada

Ask him to scan everything and send everything by email to

atip-aiprp @ cic.gc.ca

b) If you don't have a relative / friend in Canada

try these websites. You will get in around 6-8 weeks.

a) http://www.caips.ca/
b) http://caipsnotes.com/index.shtml
c) http://www.caipsretriever.com/2006/03/immigrants-life-in-toronto-canada-ii.html
d) www.lawpoint.ca ($25 only)

In my opinion it just highlights any concerns or small flags in your application, that is if there are any. Basically it just shows all the notes made on your file by the VO.

I think this is really interesting, because is cheap, it doesn't affect at the process and is kind of fast, because it can't take more than 30 days. I may order them, just curiosity :P
