Congs Tom & Family, so happy for you that soon you will get done with this nagging waiting process. At least you can now get some good sleep with no worries and plan better for the future of your family in canada.
I too landed peacefully in Calgary, the immigration staff were so welcomingwelcoming
& the whole process took me less than 30minutes. I later had to take a connection flight to Edmonton where I found my lovely hmubby waiting for me. It was a memorable moment to be reunited. I got my SIN today & have registered for Alberta health scheme as well. Soon to start looking for a job, may be next week.

Dear Rose. I am very happy for you that you landed hassle free and are now reunited with your husband..

You are definitely right in saying that I can now sleep at nights without worries..Finally!

How long after landing are you eligible for Alberta health insurance? From I known Alberta is the only provice where you do not have to wait 3 months for coverage.. Is that true? I am very concerned because I will have a wife and a new baby with us and I want them to be secured from any health issues might the appear...

Best regards my dear

Tom

Dear Zardoz its being a long time since we last talked. (Remember last time we did was when we discussed the originin of your user name( ZARDOZ movie Sean Connery, Charlotte Rambling hehehehe)
Yep finally I am in the ranks of those who can sleep easy at nights :) Where are you in Canada friend? I shall be going to Calgary. From the time we met lst year I also had a baby daughter.

Wishing you and your spouse the best!

Yay! Congratulations! Can you believe we are still in the UK!?!? The sale of our house had taken longer than planned and is admittedly worse than waiting for PR. We will be heading to Toronto. We will be staying with my parents until we buy our own house. When do you plan to make your move?

What she said... I'm doing the actual negotiations for the house sale, to a very nice lady with a couple of sweet kids. It's very difficult to be hard-nosed under these circumstances and as a result, we have been far more accommodating than is perhaps justified. Hopefully we will have some positive news very soon. Eowyn is getting "demob happy" :-)

Hi Tom,
Regarding the Alberta Health Scheme, I was told it would be processed within 14working days so am waiting. Currently working on converting my Driving permit after passing the driving test. Hopefully by end of May I will be with most of the key documents as I wait for a job opportunity. I have submitted my resume to most vacancies around & so far got 3contacts which seem promising.
Wish you a nice time as you prepare your landing/stay in Calgary.
Regards,
Rose.

Hi Tom and Family,
Its always a pleasure reading from you because right from the time of processing my application you always communicated and endeavored to keep the February 2013 active/alive. So far all is so well with me, got most of the essential documents (SIN, Alberta Health Card, Insurance, Driving license & waiting for my PR card to come by August). I have also managed to secure a full-time job in my profession BUT still looking for a better job/better pay if i land on one.

Sure Calgary is not far, i have some family members (in-laws) there and we plan to visit them before summer ends. I would be glad to see you and share a cup of coffee. If its fine with you we can exchange contact through our inbox (may be!!!).
Stay well, regards to your family
