Ironically, just a few hours after calling CIC, I get an email from Ottawa, asking for proof of financial support. I was a little shocked and confused at the same time. They already asked for my passport a month and a half ago. Now I have to show proof of income, which will be difficult since I haven't had work this year. I have been totally dependent on my wifes income. I've traveled back and forth between the US and Canada over the last year, and have been relying on her income since I'm not allowed to work in Canada on an outland application, and work is scarce back home. So other than last years tax statement, and
my wifes pay stubs, we have no other proof. I guess I wasn't as close to COPR as I thought I was.

Isn't the proof of income for the sponsor tho?
That is really a bit odd.

Technically........However there's also a requirement that the person being sponsored prove that he/she has a steady history of income or proof that they have interest from Canadian employers etc. Bank statements, taxes, letters from past employers. Basically, they want you to prove that you won't be a couch potato when you get to Canada.

Oh well, not many people have been asked to provide that tho. I really wonder why they suddenly asked that from you considering they already asked for your passport. Anyway, I wish you the best. I hope you get your COPR soon after you submit those requirements.

Thank you for your kind words and wishes. Truth is we need some extra sleep now hehehe
My thoughts are with you dear Rose. Any day now they should call you back. And don't worry about the interview.
BTW. I was in the WestGate mall in 2009 by God. It was a terrible thing what happened there

Let us know how it goes

Thanks Tom!! I'm sure you will be getting your COPR before you know it. We will have to have that cup of coffee sometime. :D

I am hoping to land Saturday if my paperwork comes Thursday like FedEx says it will. I am looking into maybe driving to Pearson and landing there instead of going 2 hours to the border. I don't know if that is possible or not. I just want this over with!!

PASSPORT REQUESTED!!! One more step closer to Canada :)

Hi guys!

Ok so my husband was asked to redo his meds which he did and they got them today (according to the courrier service tracking). They were sent in France.

His file switched to "in process" Since they requested for the meds. Any idea how long it will take to hear from them?

Hey Daisyd5,

I had a quick question for you regarding the medical re-assessment...

My husband was also asked to redo his medicals which he is in the process of doing now. Do they ask that you do the medicals exactly as you had the first time? Or is there a difference?

And I was told once he completes the medical assessment, he will send the receipt back to the address in which he got the medical files from (the Visa office)

Please let me know if were on the right track here, I'm worried we might get something wrong :(

Thanks,
Kuudir2

Hi Kuudir2

Ok so we were never asked to do the meds a first time because we went ahead and did them at the beginning and sent the appendix c (or A?) with our application.

The second time we were asked we got a doc called IMM1017. This doc lists how to do ur meds. My husband did them and he said it was the same tests as the first time. The doctor gave a receipt to my husband which we scanned and emailed ( and faxed) to the visa office treating our case as proof that meds were done.

The doctor sent the meds himself to Paris ( I think this is CIC med central)

I hope I helped :)
