Hi again,

So I had my meds done on Jan 30, application sent the same day. According to Fedex it was received Feb 1. I'm already in BC Canada as a visitor, hopefully can stay here until the application has been processed Off the topic but do u guys happen to know if it's possible to stay here as a visitor for 12 months or over? Depending how long it takes to process the application

Hey anskuhh,

what is your status now? if you are on a tourist visa, you can keep on extending it, as long as you ask for an extension before the expiry date. WHen you apply for an extension (online or on paper), you need to prove that you have the means to support yourself, so you can include pay stubs from your partner, and also to let them know that you have applied for PR, add the fee receipt ( or the sponsorship approval). If you are on a work permit for now and it's expiring soon, you will need to apply for a change of status.
But in general - yes, it is possible to stay on a visitor visa for 12 months - some members of the forum have been here in Canada for over 16 months without troubles.

Thank you so much for your reply, I can stop stressing about it now! Finnish people don't get IEC visas, so tourist visa is my only option Sucks.

Hmm. I can't answer that. I have no idea dude. I put london uk in this area because I think you're meant to nominate your vo. Mississauga only process the sponsor and not the actual application.

Maybe post a thread and ask the others.

Hi. I need help. I'm almost done with my applications and I hope I can forward it this month at the immigration but I need some assistance with my application. I am the sponsor and I am sponsoring my husband who is in Philippines. My questions are:
1. About the Sponsor questionnaire #10 Were you yourself sponsored to come to Canada? When? Yes my Aunt sponsored me to come here it was a Provincial Nominee Program. But what date would I write? the time I arrived in Canada or the date when she sponsored me?

2. About the Print Out C. I have only been here for a year so it is my first time to file a T4. I already have my T4 with me. How long would I get the Print out C when I file it in CRA?

I guess you'd write the day the sponsorship took effect. So when you arrived. Though id confirm this. Also with the option c, I think you can only get one after filing taxes. So you can either wait until you get your tax return OR you can include the other documents it states on the checklist that can act in place of an option c. Though I feel this route is harder and likely to cause delays. I'm not sure personally.

Please if you could help me confirm this (date of the sponsorship) before I forward my applications. I think payslips can act in place for Option C but isn't they want to make sure that you are not in social assistance? so the Option C is what they really want to see. DO you have any idea how long will it take to get the Option C after filing?

You can always get the 2011 Option C...(you filed the 2011 T1 right?)

You can call the CRA to request for your Option C. I got mine within about 1 week after calling them .

I don't think they'll send the application back. If you're finnish, and resident in Finland, then it will go to London. If you're resident for more than a year in Australia, and currently there, your application might go to Sydney. They usually send it to your country of nationality ( so London for you even if you're in Australia) if there is no indication. Either way, you'll be fine because London and Sydney are both fast VO...
FOr tourist visa - you should keep extending it 30 days before it expires, it's usually not a problem.

Hi Gary. I think Mississauga got my application today too. I will have to check Canada post tracking but I know it's gonna be there Thursday I hope our papers get processed soon.

I saw one earlier, she filed in January 2013 and got AOR just now. It was pretty fast.
