I received my PCC the weekend after Christmas.

Let us know if you have received your FBI PCC in Hand. I along with you is a 16th Sep applicant. I came to know it is completed. I called yesterday and they confirmed me that it would be mailed by yesterday ( 24/11/2014). I hope it would be the same for you guys as well.

You will be using the SSN while filling out an application to the FBI. Did that answer your question?

Greencard, what I wanted to ask is if SSN can be a substitute to PCC-USA? Does SSN contain Criminal Records? If yes, I am safe. It will save my 12-14 weeks. This is what I wanted to know in my previous post.

No SSN is not a substitute for PCC.
You have to apply for FBI-PCC, there is no other option.

Ideally you should not be worry as you have applied well in advance !!
Medical request,PCC,RPRF comes only after completion of back ground checks !! Normally wont take much time from the 2nd line update but still it depends on VO officer also .
More over NDVO gives 12 weeks (Depends on your luck also,some got only 45 days) dead line for FBI PCC since knowing the delay.
Going by the current trend ,it will take min 13-14 weeks to get it in hand (If delivery address is India,you can add 2 more weeks).
My opinion you are safe(Unless finger print issue).

I got 12 weeks time to submit FBI PCC from NDVO .(Again its luck also)... but no use again , already 10 weeks (Oct 27th) over, no CC charge in my case.

Be ready for taking extensions.

I am a Sep 30 applicant still waiting to receive the report. Does anyone have any format for the letter to request for an extension? Our VO is CPC-O ... also, how does CIC provide a confirmation on the extension once approved ?

There's no formal / unified format
You just send an email explaining your efforts in order to get your FBI identity history summary ASAP (accompanied with proof)
I recommend you make it a short and informative email in the mean time
Send your email at CPC-CTD-Ottawa @ cic.gc.ca
CPC Ottawa responds within 20 days telling you whether your request was granted or not
The email MUST be sent before your dead line for submitting the FBI IHS comes
Don't forget to include these information about yourself / your application in the email

Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD):
Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number / Client ID number :
Application number (V#, F#, EP#, E#, B#) :

It's impossible for late Nov. / early Dec. applicants to have their CC charged already
I'm an Oct. 6th applicant and it took them 7 weeks to charge mine
Now it takes around 8 to 10 weeks
