Hi rajkamalmohanram,
This article is very helpful to people like us who are planning to apply for PR under Express Entry- FSWP.
Me and my husband, we both are eligible to express entry- FSWP, but we have decided that, my husband will be the main applicant to initiate this process.
We are currently in the USA on H1B and H4 visa respectively. I have couple of queries before we register to express entry pool.
1. My husband did his masters from USA and he has already requested for ECA to WES.
I have Bachelors degree and 8 years of working experience in IT industry as a software engineer in India. Currently, I am on H4 visa hence I couldn't work over
here. Do I need to request for ECA too before my husband register to EE?
Your husband can create his EE profile without your ECA results. Your results can then be added later on, if you want to claim points for your education.
2. As per FSWP eligibility criteria, we got 86 points out of 100 but I am little bit confuse about CRS points. Could you please explain what is difference between 100
and CRS 1200 points?
The FSW criteria determines whether or not you are eligible to create an EE profile.
Once you create your profile, you're assigned a CRS score. The criteria for the 2 scoring systems are slightly different (you do not get CRS points for having Canadian relatives, for example).
Whether or not you receive ITA is based on your CRS score.
3. Based on cic website information, only main applicant can register to Job Bank, post creating express entry profile. Please clarify
whether dependent can also register to Job Bank or not? If yes, then we both can start applying for jobs.
Only the primary applicant can register for Job Bank.
But honestly, that doesn't really matter, because it is exceptionally unlikely that either of you will be offered a job before you have PR.
Nonetheless, both applicants can use other websites to search for jobs (workopolis.com, monster.ca, etc.).
4. For police clearance certificate (pcc), we have already initiated the process to FBI. But till April 2015, we both were in India hence, to get the pcc from Indian
government, we need to go to the Indian Embassy. Should we visit the Indian Embassy for pcc before we get ITA from cic or should we wait for ITA?
You can get an Indian PCC now, as long as you do not return to India before your application has been submitted. If you do, you'll need a new PCC.
If we can apply for pcc to Indian Embassy before we get ITA then what documents needs to be submitted as a proof to show that we need pcc for Canada
immigration?
For other countries which require proof, some people have used their EE profile and the statement on the CIC website that a PCC is required.
I would really appreciate if you could help us to resolve our queries.
Thank you,
Ridhi
