It says "In 2015, these final changes will be in force"...
2015 ends in December as a possibility
You really are stretching it out aren't you.

Notice this as well.

Changes with respect to a new revocation decision-making process and new grounds for revocation of citizenship may come into force earlier than the above-listed provisions.

Haha. .So, you're trying to be as optimistic as you can. When are you getting eligible btw..?
It is not about me, I will be eligible to apply before the summer...
Being Canadian will not give me more benefits than I already have from my country's passport.

I am talking about that there is nothing official that can support when the cut off date will be... we are approaching February already and it is getting suspicious that the cut off date is still a mystery for such a big change

Even for these changes... Nothing official yet as a date... that's what I am talking about.

Totally Agree with you. But the rule can be suddenly implemented like the others without a long notice. Just like the Fee increase.

I agree but part about "enforcing revoking citizenship may come into force EARLIER than the rest" contradict that the last step of implementation will be late or delayed.

If the mystery goes on like this... by November the applicants might still wait for the cut off date to come finally

Exactly , many people might be still eligible to apply according to the current rules even after the summer

They have to make a decision. Which is more important. Qualifying for citizenship or going on vacation. If they think qualifying for citizenship is more important and need to stay in Canada to qualify under the 3/4 year rule, while awaiting for new rule to kick in, that's their decision to make.

If someone qualifies under 3/4 year rule in October and have to stay in Canada no vacation outside Canada, to do it and hope the new rule doesn't kick in until Nov 1st, that's their decision to make. They know the new rule is kicking in this year. If they want to gamble and stay in Canada to do it, that's their right to decide to do that.

It's just not vacation it could any other reason also...for the sake of citizenship travelling abroad sometimes have more priority...so it depends..but certainly..people who are at the verge of completing their 3 yrs, it's a BIG DEAL with the upcoming changes that are not yet confirmed. They should be considerate for such people..that are nearing their 3 yrs..[some exemption should be in place]

Notice, that when announcing the fee increase they speculated that it will save lot's of money this year

But if the changes will be implemented starting (say) Tomorrow. They will get (Almost) no new fees for at least 1 year
Currently, this government seems to be hungry for revenues, so maybe there is still hope for August applications ...

Does it really makes sense to increase the fees and then block new applicants shortly afterwards?

Again it comes back to priority. Is Canadian citizenship more important to you or your job that requires you to leave Canada on business. You can always explain to your boss that you cannot leave canada because qualifying for citizenship is more important than your job.
