So once AOR and SA are granted, this is when the long wait with no communication, no update, no nothing (kind of a black hole) starts, correct, unless they want additional information? And the next visible step (if everything goes well) is DM?

Glad most of you got SA already. Checked the spreadsheet and it seems like I am the only one from Manila that hasn't received SA.
We got AOR March 3rd. I asked my aunt if she got SA on her mail and she said nothing yet.

How long does it normally take for us to get SA? Should I be alarmed?

Spidermark I would call CIC if I were you. Your application was received on December 15th and the website says they are currently processing applications from December 22nd. I wouldn't be worried if I were you but I would want to know what is creating the delay on your SA since several January applications have received SA.

you can try calling CIC. if it's been approved, they may tell you over the phone. the sponsor is the one who receives the notification, so you'd want to be checking the sponsor's email and regular mail listed in the application.

You are not alone!

We are also still patiently waiting for SA.

We submitted outland on December 22, received AOR on March 6 and still no news on SA..

Lets hope we hear something soon as others including January applicants are certainly receiving them this week.

Unfortunately when I log on it is still saying 'application received' for both categories..

Good luck and I will let you know when we receive any advice from CIC..

You should call: 1 (888) 242-4100
Then dial (1) for English, then dial (1) again for checking your status, and (1) again for sponsorship application. It's really straight forward. they are open from 7 AM EST, you may want to try early in the morning to avoid the waiting time.

I finally received SA today (AOR February 28th)!! Could someone update the spreadsheet for me?

I have another question, our letter states the following "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been retained for further processing at CPC Mississauga."

Does this mean that my application will be done in Mississauga or does everyone gets this message?

Does this mean that my application will be done in Mississauga or does everyone gets this message?

that means your application is being processed in mississauga. please don't confuse this with meaning it was put in the "inland" queue. Mississauga has been retaining "non complicated" outland applications from certain visa offices to supposedly to help with "overflow". Generally, this means a fast tracked process. best of luck!

just a quick question:
where is your spouse located at the moment?
Although I know, we can never know why CIC does what CIC does ,I am trying to figure out if the location of the spouse has something to do with the file being kept in mississauga. Same has been happening with a few other forum members as well.

Sponsor is located in Calgary Alberta at the moment, I am from the Netherlands and living there right now! I guess it is good news that our application is being processed in Mississauga I saw the Vienna waiting time is 17 months at the moment..

I am starting a new job with Rogers I have the offer letter already. I want to inform tha VO. My file is already sent to my spouse country Sri Lanka Colombo. How can I inform them. I want to send them a copy and say I changed my job, it is a better pay and stable position.
