Does it mean that the decision is made on my sponsorship application?

No it does not mean a decision has been made on your sponsorship application. It means that the received your medical exam and have logged it into the system. Some people have had their medicals logged in ECAS and some haven't yet.

Call them at 7am they are open and tell them it is over 97 days and you are worried. Speak gently there is no point in fighting with government officials. THe more nicer you are the more helpful they are.

Hi Tranjini,

I spoke with them and the agent was very kind, she explained that there were no notes on my file (which is weird for a delayed file) and she said that they had 3 months to respond to my initial query. Fortunately, I received AOR today. Wooot! Steady she goes!

Hey guys I wanted to ask you guys for help if you guys have similar situation or have some knowledge from previous post but I got an email from Nairobi vo saying Since my spouse doesn't have a passport and cannot obtain a travel document recognized by Canada and they will issue a visa on a Canadian Single Journey Travel document. I will first need to contact the International Organization for Migration (IOM), who will arrange and facilitate your travel. IOM has competitive flight rates. IOM also facilitates departure, exit permits and transits at airports and need to pay IOM directly for the travel arrangements.
Also his medicals will expire on August 25, 2015 and needs to arrive in Canada before
this date.
They state to confirm in writing, within 30 days of this letter, that you agree to this.

So guys what do you think this mean?? Am I on the right track please advice guys thanks

I am new to this forum. I am sponsoring my husband from Srilanka.
I sent my application on 4th Dec and received AOR on 25th Feb. but no SA yet..
I called CIC so many times but no proper answers from any agent. One agent said they processing my file and i will have to wait until end of March and then only i can call back but nothing to worry. Latest reply from the agent is that they doing some external verification... I have no idea what does that means?

When i checked ECAS via my husband's application no it shows medical received also they have updated his home address too. is that normal for everyone?

Some senior members mentioned about contacting their local MP, I wonder if it would help in your case?

What do you mean as local MP? Would you please explain in more details? I have the exact same situation here.

It's a good thing that the status is medical received , meaning they are processing your app.

Yes jonesy, I'm currently in Canada. I'm here on WHV (working holiday visa)

Andyb, I was wondering if you sent in your PPR to Ottawa with 2 xpresspost envelopes? Doesn't seem necessary if we're only sending passport copies.

Yes I sent 2 canada post envelopes to ottawa with the pictures and updated info chart. I'm sure it was unnecessary also but I didn't want any delay so I just sent everything They asked for.

I am also from sri lanka don't worry they will send you your SA. Some sponsors from sri lanka go through normal check up some go through security check which take a bit longer. but don't worry you will receive your SA soon.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/processing-time-for-spousal-visa-sri-lanka-t60979.0.html this is the forum for sri lankan applications or sponsors they also have spread sheet you can enter your info. Good luck. I am sponsoring my husband how about you?
