Hello everyone from Iran ... I'm joining you Decemberians, since I don't see any January 2012 thread. I sent my application in December 2011, CIC received it in January 4, 2012.

I'm sponsoring my husband and I am living in Iran with him until he gets his papers (hopefully soon). I am living here in Iran for the last 10 months and am married for 2 months.

I received this email today:


This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2011/12/13.

What is this exactly? it's been 3 weeks that I sent my application, is it good news already that they are working on my application? or is it just normal to receive that kind of mail after 3 weeks?

Hi Ludovick! Our apps were recieved on the exact same day, Dec 13, and I got that same e-mail last week! Seems like we might have the same very efficient officer looking at our applications! best of luck!

I just received an email today to say my application was received 19th December, hoping the processing times get smaller as I have flights booked to leave New Zealand in May?! Anyone know what happens with the application if your country of residence changes before the visa is approved?

yes... it really is so sad to know that it only moved just a day and that the processing time gets longer.
we have not receive any confirmation or acknowledgement from them if they have received our application, unlike some of the lucky ones that posted here on december group.. i mean at least they are assured that their papers are already safe on hand of the cic officers.. sad face for me..

If you applied 'Outland', i.e. via the Sydney office if you're from NZ, then you can travel anywhere you want. It's only if you are applying 'Inland' that you need to stay in one place, which is Canada.

Application sent off December 12th by courier!

Well, hello to all the December applicants out there! Finally, hours of work and printing and collecting papers finally led to our app going Outland to London via Mississauga on 12th December! My Canadian hubby is sponsoring me, and can't wait to hear something from CIC. Anyone heard anything yet?

Our only concern is that after 12 living together here in Canada, we got married early in November and we are still waiting on the actual Marriage Certificate to arrive in the post. We took the chance in sending our app without it, just using the Solmenization document and a copy of our faxed request for and expidited service from SERVICE ONTARIO for the Marriage Certificate. According to people on this forum, some IO's accept the Solmenization and some don't, so fingers crossed. However, we should have it any day now.

Can we forward it on to Missisauga to be added to our application? If we had waited until now, my police checks would have been out of date. So we took the chance.............

How do I put a timeline on here please?

Finally saw a thread of Dec 2011 applicants! Thanks to the person who invited me. My application was received on Dec 6th. My spouse is from Philippines while the rest of my family resides in Toronto and New Brunswick. Let's hope for the best!

A strong case, meaning, your relationship is proven genuine based on your supporting documents like proof of relationship (old and new photos, photos with family or friends, post cards stamped with date, receipts like western union if you send them money, boarding passes when you visited each other)...stuff like these make yours a strong GENUINE case.
