Unfortunately no change since Feb. 20, hope to hear good news this week

I applied for my wife in april 13,2010 file received in june 1 2010, and still in process they sent to my wife a letter asking for the t4 for the last year for the tax return and if i dont have it i could send pay stubs or bank statements and i cant provide that because iam currently in jordan with my wife i have vacation ..so i cant provide them that anybody can help what to do please........

You don't have anyone in Canada who can send them for you?? I think they give you 60 days to send back the papers?

Just log in to your online banking and get access to your bank statement , so send them the bank statement

the bank statements is easy to get but will it replace a T4? they want to make sure your taxes are up to date.

For T4 just called your Accounting guy and ask him to send the paper for you. then send it from Jordan or

you can go inside Egovernment and have a copy of it, it is the easiest way I believe.

It is so bad there are no news since Feb for all.

Did they ask the t4 from you guys..... I called my employer and he's sending me pay stub so that i can send it to them but when i applied for my wife i was working at another place and now i work in another place so the pay stub will be not the same place that i sent a letter of employment when i applied for her anyone know if it does effect.

I suggest you go on the CRA website ( Canada Revenue Agency) www.cra-arc.gc.ca then click on online services then click on individuals .. Create a user Id and password...then you should have access to how much refund orrr how much you had to pay for previous years.. I think this should do no?? or just go on the website there's a link to contact them . Call them and ask how you can get a copy

CRA will not have the copy of T4 for 2010

as per Mohammad's post, they asked him for T4 , pay stub or bank statement , so it doesn't mean that they want to make sure Mohammad paid his tax , they want to make sure if he is still living in canada or not.

So in my opinion sending them the bank statement shows the deposit of his salary would be good enough.

it doesn't show the T4 but it does show how much refund the government sent you and yes obviously it won't show for the year 2010 because income tax season is now. but i agree with AAM7 you should sent them copy of your bank statements so that they can see the salary deposit. And depending on the province where he's sponsoring from I don't think they need his T4 to show how much he's earning they want to see if he's in rule with the Canadian Tax System.

but then again I think as employees of the government who are doing background check on people they should easily be able to retrieve someone's income tax return to see how much he is earning or whether he has filled his tax return for the year?? Why so much hassle??

you are right nagz , but what I am feeling is that they only want to make sure he is employed and he has not moved out of Canada.

Because since the time of the procedure is already long, if they do all the work it will take them 2 years , that is why they ask us to send document , in some case, they will do a RE-CHECK if they think something is wrong
