ACtually what canada accept it does not mean that The Embassy will accept , if the embassy ask for a document its not for fun they need this document and it is necessary for the process of your application , for me per exemple I sent my Mariage certificate and canada accepted it but the Embassy did not, they wanted my marriage certificate from the ministry of the interior....what I want to say is that the Embassy has the last word because they are the one that takes the responsibility and it is their fault if they give a visa to a wrong person so that is why they check alot on the security and this is the process that takes the most of the time and if you are living and lived in more then one country , the check is longer

I mean honestly how can they tell if your marriage is real or not just the fact that I am roman catholic and not a Muslim. So now I am a Muslim and I wear a hyjab, does this really prove that the marriage is any more real, of course not.

And I am a Canadian born to Portuguese/Brazilian parents this will never change, I love and I am proud of my culture. He got to see and learn about my culture too and he loves it. I just could not believe that Canada who is so multicultural would even send such a letter.

Yeah I got the same thing with the marriage cert, I got them both the legal size one and the certificate. So , I guess I will just try not to think about it and let it take its course. Inshallah all will go well for all of us.

dont be angery...becuase my case is straight forward and they didnt want any additional documents but i haven`t got my pr yet...so this is a log time process be patient...
can u plz explain waht does ur husband has the different culture and religion mean??if u r married with an iranian it is question mark for them becuase irainian cant get married with someone who has different religion..ur lawyer have to explain to them according to ur situation...my hasband uncle has the same problem but his wife is muslim too but different country....so in iran they coudnt get married because if they want his wife has to get iranian passport and give up her afghanian nationality...so their marriga is not valid in iran..and they want tha same ducumentsas u...but finally they sent an email last week and said their file is finalized and they r waiting for ppr now...their proceesing time is as same as urs...it satrted at 3 aug...
so dont worry they want to pass few time that can prove them u r with eachother up to now and ur marriage is real...it depends on the sense of the responsible officer...

He is Syrian .....I am Portuguese/Brazilian
He is Muslium ...at the time I was Roman Catholic
When we got married...
He was 28 soon to be 29.....I was 36
He never married before....I just finished a divorce but we were not together since 2003
He has no kids...I have 3

So this a few other things they said to us, is the difference between us. So in their minds at the time they think that he was with me for a passport only and they could not believe that he would actually love me.

So now I am not a Roman Catholic and now I do know his family and he already knew mine when he was in Canada. That was one of the things they said too.

Congrats for your husband's uncle, inshallah they will get the PR soon.

That is so stupid seriously. It's not because your husband's muslim and you're catholic that your marriage is not genuine.

scroll down a bit when your on the website the video is there... anyway I really liked it it shows how some people use others to come to Canada and once they step foot here they disappear and never come back. I guess that's why they take so long to process our file to make sure the relationship is genuine but then again even if they look deeper there's nothing to prove that it really is or not

I read the article but the video is not available in Kuwait. After reading that, wow my file calls red flags like crazy. And you are right, just by looking through papers they can't tell if it is genuine or not. But that was the first response we got from them in 2009, I swear and I did not say it was only because we were different religion, I said that is what they put on the refusal letter plus other differences that we have, culture and more and yes religion was one of them.

You know they should make it a step residence, where they will check on us from time to time. See if we are what we say we are and if not then there should be some legal action taken. For us who are genuine would have no problems with that, just as long as we could be together...right?

I know for us we would have no problems with that. If our application is refused, we have already been talking about living in another country together either in the Middle East or Europe (not sure yet) we will see what happens.

Thanks guys for all your advice, it is really nice to talk about this with people who understand, I really don't tell people what is going on.

Hi Hanna , I know what do you feel , it just hard , My wife and I we talk about living in another country if they refused us , we ll go to dubia , because many speaks english over there so she ll not feel big different, so you can think about this country too.

For all no news in my case, my wife went and talk to PM but they said we cannot do any but send email so they did, that was before 14 days, we are waiting for answer. hopfully will be good news

Yaya, Dubai is a beautiful country but I hear it is also very expensive...

Unfortunetly for my case still no news... in 15 days it will mark 3 months since they have received my application with no in process just yet... :s

When we had filled out the application, I had put my current job and rate I was making.. a month ago I started working fulltime at another place.. my question is do I have to update my VO with this information ?

My guess would be yes but then it would make everything so long and confusing as they might ask for extra papers from my work for proof..

my only confusion would be that if i dont update them my husband during the interview if we have one is asked about my job he would have to stick to what was written on paper ?

im so confused.. if someone could help i would appreciate it !

Geminibella when they will ask your husband to fill out the res. questionnaire, it contains a question about your work, so you can update your work status.
