i see you guys talking about background checks, how long do the usually take? the embassy also told me they were working on the background checks, and that an outside agency does it so the embassy has no control over the time length it needs and therefore the processing of the applications, this is what they have sent me through an email...but good luck to you guys~

It is not matter where you live, if you were reside in many countries for example travel or live to two or more countries then they will need to receive the police check for all those countries and i think they will take between 2 to 4 months or more, it varies...., In the form that you filled out ask you which country you travel during the 10 years before.....

well then this background check is only for the applicant, isn't it?

Yes as I know this is only for the applicant that wants to get a visa, usually for any visa include visitor , student ,bussiness visa they will do.

Dear Bahar, why your case is still waiting? they asked you more documents? or you traveled too much before? As you know if you travel alot before your background check getting more time!

No I haven't traveled; my husband and I forgot to pay the RPRF. I paid it almost two months ago and I'm still waiting!
If you haven't paid it yet I highly suggest that you pay it before they ask for it.
If you wait till the last moment there will be a delay.

Actually there are several friends who just disappeared and we have no record about them. I still kept them on the chart so it gives us a gist abt the number of applicants.
Also, you can give me your filing and approval date to be added to the chart. 8)

yeh they asked for some docs and i sent them in about 1.5 month ago and i was told they were waiting on the background checks outcome and its been about 1.5 month since they have started the background checks., they have received the other docs aswell ....btw has anyone looked at the cic website where ankara is now 15 month for processing of spousal cases...
