i know it's hard but u should follow their rules....u don't want the officer to b suspicious of her not living in Ca anymore....there could b a number of ways: tax returns, the lost of the health benefits (6 months outside Ca), they can contact her work and see that she resigned / quit, the place where she used to live (will she change her address too?; if not who will take care of her mail in case she gets something from CIC?), stamps in her passport?? (maybe they don't put although i heard that they started to put for the PRs)....they have their ways if they really want to check :( ::) of course like it happenned in Wardeh's case nothing happpenned at the end but it's a risk...can't she just visit u without quitting her job, cancelling the apt lease etc (like an unpaid leave)??

note: we have this discussion just cuz ur wife is a PR (for citizens there r no such requirements)
In general u r right. However our situation is a bit different compare to a normal person! she is a dentist and is preparing herself for an exam which is going to be held in feb 2013. No Job, no tax return and our lawyer will take care of the mails of cic. Yet, I'm aware of the risk but we r really fed-up. I hope I receive my ppr before she comes on May 18th!

Hi Siavash,
You will probably get your passport request from Ankara in the next couple of months. I don't think her being outside Canada for only a couple of months would be a problem. She would probably stay in Iran with you for 2-3 months before this whole process is over and I don't think staying outside Canada for that short period of time would cause any problem. However, in case it took any longer than that she would probably have to go back to Canada and wait for you there cuz you don't want to face any problems. Maybe you can plan a visit for like 60-90 days max and see if you get PRR in the meanwhile, which I am pretty sure you will.If not, at least you guys have been together for a few months and bearing the last days away from each other would be much easier.

Yep,
Makes sense.

When I sent an email to ankara-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca I didn't receive any confirmation....I used re-anbkara-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca Samira jan.

Sohrab tons of congrats!!
Happy for u pesar! Keep checking the forum :)

My wife went to our mp last week and she replied to her request a few minutes ago.
I'm sharing her email with u guys.

I have heard back from CIC regarding your sponsorship. The application was indeed received in Damascus in May of 2011, bring the file to almost 12 months. It is currently in queue to be reviewed by an officer in Ankara. There is a delay to the processing due to the files being transferred to Ankara of 1 1/2 months. We were advised processing for spousal sponsoring will take approximately 15- 16 months this year. The file number is : Fxxxxxxxxxx

We can certainly check back in a few week’s time to see the update on file; as of date, nothing seems to be wrong with the file and it is processing normally.
Hope this information helps and have a great day.

My cousin wants to sponser his future wife. Do you think it is a better idea that she applies for student visa and get here and start studying . Then get married in canada and apply for sponsership.
Are there any restrictions?
Or better to get married in Iran first and then sponser?
