I have two UCIs. One was assigned to me with my initial visitor's record (seasonal resident) and my second was assigned to me by CIO-S with my FSW PR application. I didn't even know I had two UCIs until I received a copy of the CAIPS (this is pre-GCMS) notes. When I applied to Seattle for my TRP I actually pointed out to them that I had two UCIs and they "fixed" it in the system (there are actually directions in the processing manuals about how to handle the situation of a single person with more than one UCI.)

Legally employers are only required to give stat pay/days off for one of the holidays if there are two within the same weekend. In this instance, they had the choice between good Friday and today. So I'm assuming you're right, they got Friday off and are back at work today.

Not so with government workers. Canada Post was closed Friday AND Today. So obviously CIC would be as well. MP's offices are closed both days too.

But people got replies to emails from Ottawa today, so CIC had to be working today. Maybe not the call center but definitely some agents. Unless they're working from home which I highly doubt lol

Could explain why they request so many copies we already sent.

Friday & Monday were stat holidays for govt employees. Maybe they just had some people working overtime.

We actually received an additional docs request email on a Saturday back in February so it seems like they would work on weekends and Holidays.

Update on our file:

Sent Additional Docs on March 13th 2013.
Case went In-Process on March 26th 2013.
Received a call and email today requesting repeat of Chest X-Rays to reassess medical and make decision.

It might have something to do with the fact that their experiences were not at all similar to yours!

I didn't mean what I said in a bad way! I just wanted to add a positive experience for those who are reading this thread and panicking over the horror stories! Not all applications work that way!

Is it ok to call the call centre if my application for visa is past processing times? I know it says in the cic website to contact if its past the processing times, but a co-worker told my husband that they get pissed off when they are contacted and put your application at the end of the pile. I've contacted them twice already to enquire about urgent processing , as I'm travelling in a few days, of course they said its waiting to be processed. Now since its past the date I want to call and see what's going on as I am pretty sure they will refuse my visa :-X, because I am married to a Canadian, even though I hold a pgwp and haven't applied for PR yet. My husband is getting impatient and I need to make up my mind on whether we'll be able to travel or not so we can do other plans . Call them or not?

If it is actually passed the processing time then yes you can contact them. I'm sure they get annoyed but I highly doubt they would put your application at the end of the pile, especially because the people at the call center don't have access to your file they can only see information about it. You could also try emailing Ottawa directly which sometimes prompts them to move a little faster.

They give out the email address for a reason. They have no reason to think you are psycho hahaha, it's only natural that you would be concerned about your application. When I emailed them they replied within a few hours.

The thing about the call center is that they don't have access to applications that are being processed outside of Canada, and as far as CIC is concerned, Ottawa isn't in Canada because they deal with Outland applications. The most they will likely tell you is that it was transferred to Ottawa. So emailing the VO is probably your best shot since the call center probably can't tell you whats going on.

But they probably think we're all psycho anyhow. Their job is to mistrust us, to weed out the frauds, so there's an inherent mistrust of us in all of their dealings with us. Can't really blame them, that's just the way it is.

Is there a spreadsheet for April 2013 applicants yet?

I haven't seen one, but they are easy to make if you don't mind updating them. Just copy one of the previous month's sheets and save it as a new document, deleting all of the entries so you can add April applicants.
