CPP-Ottawa

Does anyone know if CPP-ottawa is open on easter monday? I wrote them an email a week ago, and they replied this morning at 10:30. Considering that they replied I'm guessing they might be open? The reason I'm asking is because I have my visa in process there and I'm traveling in a few days. Anyone knows anything about their hours, holiday hours etc?

Was it an automated reply or a real reply?

My university is open today, much to my surprise. I got two grades back!

Real reply, had the date my file has received, file number etc., I was surprised that they replied today of all days. I was under the impression that gov offices were closed today.

I definitely would have thought they were closed today. But maybe they are working and the call center is just closed. Usually government workers take off as many days as they possibly can, and as many coffee breaks, smoke breaks and bathroom breaks as they can too. hehehe

Do you know if the updates are done as soon as they make a decision or they take their time to update them

I think CIC has a giant dart border with possibilities of status updates or "do nothing" and they throw a dart at it from time to time to see what to do.

There's probably another dart board that says "Consider updating" and "Do nothing" with "Do nothing" taking up the majority of the spaces. They use that one frequently.

If CIC ever puts my file and my postings together, I have 0 chance of ever getting my PR.

PS: My husband mentioned Friday was the Stat. Maybe that's why Ottawa is working today? I don't know if that's just his union contract or everyone, cuz I can't work so every day is a holiday at my house..... 8)

Can anyone tell me the exact address to send a packet to CPP-Ottawa to make sure it gets to the correct place and unite with the rest of my application? I have to mail my daughters meds as well as my marriage certificate in Friday. I need an address and what else should I put in the packet to make sure it gets with the rest of my file? I only have the UCI of the sponsor and the file number. I haven't gotten a UCI for the applicant yet. Any information would be appreciated!!!

Thanks parker24!! I thought that we would each get a UCI number, not just the sponsor.

Legally employers are only required to give stat pay/days off for one of the holidays if there are two within the same weekend. In this instance, they had the choice between good Friday and today. So I'm assuming you're right, they got Friday off and are back at work today.

I hope you're right. If they're open today I'm one day closer to my visa and hopefully off on vacation next week.
