Its been long time as being silent reader on this forum but i m very much connected to u all. well i have to know somthing about passport renewal, today i went to passport office so they told me bring ur marriage certificate and husbands CNIC if married, the question is My CNIC and passport till now is shown as i m single, kindly suggest me should i have to change my passport and CNIC as in my husbands name.
Prompt in Reply will be appreciated.

You already got the replies from other buddies, this marital status update is a must and do it ASAP. I will also add one thing more into it once you get your new CNIC with your husband's name on it right away apply for NADRA marriage registration certificate as well. This is also important document now a days.

Good Luck to you!!

Hello Everyone,

Just an update. I have received a remedical request on May 16, 2014. I applied in March 2012 and Processing started in June 2012. However, the email came from London office.

I'm excited. :D

Thanks everyone!

There is no need of being worried about, just email them and hopefully they will inform you why they called you. In your email tell them that you missed their call.

The form i previously filled i filled wrong they have asked me tp refill the form . If i again fill correctly would ot be ok or is it necessary to fill form with same data .

Congrats! Is this your first correspondence with CIC after your initial file submission? Did you ever submit proof voluntarily?

I never applid for another ID card after getting married. However, recently applied for the renewal of my passport with the marital status change (instead of daughter of..its now wife of..). on the other hand, my husband applied for his overseas pakistani ID card and he changed his status from signle to married. Do I need to change my ID card as well. would it be a problem if I will not???

If you guys are planing to have kids in Canada then they won't be able to apply for a SNICOP if your husband's name is not on your CNIC. Other workaround would be to get a visitor visa for Pakistan on your kid(s) Canadian passport and visit Pakistan and get their CNIC.
So you will be unaffected but your kids be will be effected one way or the other.

That make a lot of sense. Thank you!

Great! Thank you for your help. My wife only received 2 pages medical request 1 page with instructions and 2nd page with Medical report with IME no. Does the physician takes the picture and send the medical report page to the immigration himself?

In my case they did everything u just need to take what they asked for

One doesn't need to change their sir name just the part where it says "wife of..." instead of "daughter of...".
As far as immigration lawyers go, this forum's opinion about them is a good yard stick to measure their competency. And the "others" you mention are what we call "lakeer k faqeer"
