Lets just launch our protest now and email our foreign minister, Pakistan's ambassador to Canada to let them know we don't want this 26 months long timeline. We want to live our life with our partners but this process is a hindrance!
doesn't matter they don't reply to us or not but at least we will do our part.
Now don't tell me Pakistani government don't care about us, who knows shaid kuch hojaye.

Friends, I just got back from visiting my wife a few days ago.
Spoke to my MP the day I got back and asked him to make an inquiry. He spoke to CIC-ISB and he has told me the following:

  • my file is still in Ottawa and has yet not been touched.
  • The additional support package I sent to CIC-ISB on Sep 7th was forwarded to Ottawa in October and has been attached to my physical file.
  • He thinks that the Ottawa files wont be touched till the 18th month for initial review.

I think the last point is not correct. Somebody in Ottawa thread said if Ottawa is processing cases from other VO's they follow that VO's timeline. So usually straight forward cases (on avg) get done in 16-18 months for husband and 15-16 months for wife .. and Ottawa is going to touch the file in the 18th month - doesn't sound realistic. 2010 cases are exceptional. A friend of mine applied in 2010 Sept/Oct and her husband was her by 2012 May. So obviously didn't take the 26 months for her file to complete. Its just total luck .. and whoever gets done early is purely lucky .. simple as that.

I agree with you, a lot of 2011 people have already gotten their visas.

Guys if you go by the current timeline and recent development of 2011 cases, expect for request of updated forms+remed after almost one year of initial filing of application. From then on, it can take up to 6 months for PPR+rePCC even for the simple of cases. Do follow up after remed to make sure it is in the hands(system) of CHC.

Other than that contact MPs, CHC every quarter and make sabr.

If you have any questions, even though mine was ISB office, let me know. Just got done with this grueling process. I should add this was nikah only case. So don't be afraid my fellow nikah only couples. :)

Going to Pakistan to visit my hubby in 2wks. I'm very happy, can't wait to see him

My file was transferred July 18, 2012 and I got an email from CPP-Ott. Do you think, its time now for me to forward additional proof as well. The processing time is really a big gamble. After reading all the posts for the last 8 months, it seems like its a matter of luck really who gets processed early. I hope 2013 is a bearer of good news for all of us Insha'Allah.

My wife started filling the RESIDENCY QUESTIONNAIRE

Then we saw this question :

4) What preparations have you and/or your sponsor made for your move to Canada?

Is this a joke ? look at the damn timeline for Pakistani people what kind of preparation we can do right now else then preparing us for mental torture for +2 years ?

On serious note Can you guys/Gals give ideas what to put in it ? I can't do any preparation till she is not requested for PP request for visa. So at filling time what to put ?

And this question is really confusing :

13) Please give the name of the countries where your sponsor has resided, your sponsor's
complete address(es), and telephone number(s) in these countries, as well as period of
residence at each address since the time your sponsorship application was submitted:

Do I have to provide address where I will reside after submitting the application ?, as this Form is to be sent with application how on earth I will know where and what time duration I will reside on an unknown address ? I don't have crystal ball :S

Thanks for your help :)
