October 9 2011 Medical happened
on December 9, 2011 my file got transfer to Canada office
on Feburary 1, 2012 file got transfer to Islamabad
Since then no news,
Can any one guide where i can atleast ask or get to know what files they are dealing with, how much more time ??
I am badly depressed without my husband

Subject: Long & Un-Just Processing times for Canadian Spouse Visa for Pakistan



I would like to draw your attention to a very important issue. Currently the processing time of Canadian spouse visa application for Pakistan is around 30 months which used to be very less in the past. If we compare it with the other countries its less than a year time. It is so discouraging and discriminating for people of Pakistan. It is very hard for newly wed couples to stay apart for such a long time and maintain their relationships. Canadian government has introduced a number of changes to their immigration system to curb the marriage of convenience including 5 year ban after a sponsored spouse land in Canada and its mandatory to live with his spouse for two years otherwise he has to risk his permanent residency status. People of Pakistan strongly encourage any actions which curb the marriages of convenience but such a long processing times are a real source of demotivation and discrimination.

Canadian immigration department gives the excuse that its time taking task to decide either the marriage is genuine or not. But the fact is that they actually start working on the application after a year. They don’t even bother to touch the spouse visa application for atleast a year and this discrimination is only with Pakistani applicants.

I humbly request you to kindly raise this issue with the concerned authorities and take measures to reduce the processing times atleast equivalent to other countries so that people of Pakistan don’t feel discriminated.

My E-Case says: Application Received.

Just a Quick Question ..actualy few Questions, , 1st. In your AOR WHat does it says about your file that it has been sent to islamabad or ottawa?..2nd WHat does you ECas say...i mean your status...coz you and i are in same boat almost same time line...

i have doubt on ottawa office ..i think this is there Auto reply..coz who ever email them get same reply..does it mean that isl is not taking 2012 cases..

Hear this out guys.

3 months ago, I was very disappointed at the CIC processing. (They somehow forgot to forward my file to Ottawa/Islamabad).

So, what i did was. I emailed Jason kenny (Immigration Minister). I told him my situtation and I said that i was a citizen by birth and its unfair that they place stupid games like this. (I knew they wouldn't reply)

3 months later, i get an email from kenny's office. Writing to me in detail regarding spousal sponsership.

Yaar lets email them all at once. at the same time cuz somebody might do it today and somebody might do it a week later .. they wont notice. We are about 20 people here. Imagine their mailbox getting the same msg ... they will be like something is surely going on.

do you guys think adding our personal examples will help them understand our situation more? something like I want to get over my degree fast so I want to take the spring semester but that means ill have to stay far away for 4 more months, and I don't think I can afford that. So ill skip my spring semester.
