I agree with you. I know a sikh guy who got duped not too long ago. So what must we do to improve this bond? Should we bring Musharraf back because in 2004 the processing time was a mere 4-6 months!

I would love to, if it was in my control. I don't think Zardari is any good, conditions of Pakistan have never been worse. Its a living hell now especially in Karachi!

no email ottawa and ask if their file is with them but that person should know for sure that file is in Islamabad. This way we can test if Ottawa is giving out the right information or not. Feels weird to know that everyone's file is in Ottawa ..

Well I called the call centre and she told me that it is in Ottawa so yeah. I'm not going to keep calling or emailing.

Hello dear senior members i have a question. Is the child care benefits also part of walfare? N can the CIC refuse the spouse sponsorship case on the base that the sponsored is getting canada/universal child care benefits

I supported the lawyers movement back in 2007 and I thought it would be a catalyst for greater change. However, now when I reflect it seems like things have gotten worse! There was more stability when Musharraf was around.

I don't think so. I believe the only time CIC shows concern is when the sponsor receives welfare while sponsoring his/her spouse. Of course if the spouse comes to Canada and starts receiving assistance within three years- then the sponsor owes the assistance received to the government. They will find out one way or the other!

Many friends of mine where 2011 applicants. I personally know a few who got their whole process approved in 13 months to 14 months (whole wedding, wife). I few where approved around 17 months (nikkah case, wife).

looks like 2010 applicants were the worst affected because that is when the time line jumped from 6 months to 16 months to 24 months. Lets hope there is no more waiting for them.

I doubt they would bring down times for ISB. ( I wish they do). Though i see they slowly have increased the times for India and Sri lanka. (Though there is still a major difference in time between them and ISB)

It feels so good to see this timeline, Insha'Allah we get to be with our spouses soon.
