Just remember if one decides to have a child right after marriage, then you need a lot of patience as your worries will increase with your wife's pregnancy. At the same time, she will have a hard time without her husband being there for all the ups and downs and trips to the hospital. Its another thing to the husband to go visit for the delivery but still needs lots and lots of patience if one decides to take this step.

The best thing in my opinion is to wait till the immigration process is over and once the couple is together in Canada, then its easier to plan for kids.

Its true, you are right. A child is a gift from Allah, even if a couple tries to prevent from having it, they can have it. Some couples are so unfortunate that they try so much and they still don't have a child.

My point was only for those people who want to have a child right away for various reasons. Many of them involves Grandparents want to become great grand parents and want to see their great grand child during their lifetime. These kind of things value a lot to our elders but we overlook these things. It all depends on how the person views certain things, if he gives more importance to his parents or wife.

In one way its true that a wife needs her husband when she is pregnant. It is proven by science. She becomes emotionally more attached to the husband and there are various different things that only a husband can do for her. At the end of the day, we can't control birth no matter how many contraceptives we use. This is a gift from Allah and its in Allah's hands.

I understand your point of view brother. I just added to your post for those who had a misconception that the processing becomes faster if the wife becomes pregnant during the process.

Somethings are not in our hand and this is for sure one of them. ;)
I am really happy to become a father again :)

I just wanted to know at what stage we should inform CIC-ISB about her pregnancy. Just for everyone's knowledge, I posted the same question in another thread and I got a response that we should send an email to the CIC and also send a letter from doctor. This will be included in the file. They will then know when to send request for re-medical. From that person's experience, it doesn't slow the process.

Congrats on the goods news brother :)

To answer your question; Was your file was transferred in May 2011? If thats the case then if everything goes according to the current speed then your wife would probably get the Re-medical in August 2012 if you don't inform them of your wife's pregnancy. Now it depends on your wife's due date. Lets assume that your wife is due in October. CHC-Islamabad will put a bring forward date of October 2012 on your wife's file and that is when they will open it next, if you inform that about your wife's pregnancy now. It is very possible that they send your wife the Forms update, Re-PCC etc meanwhile or they choose to wait till October 2012. Also, if you are a citizen of Canada then it would be easier to get the paperwork done for the newborn and then they will send your wife Re-medical and PPR. But if you are a permanent resident in Canada, then you will have to add the newborn baby on your wife's application and it could take upto 6 months from the the time of remedical to get Visa.

What I said above is just from other people's experience on this forum.

Thank you so much bro. As of now the due date is Sep or Oct. I am a PR and not a citizen. I will consult couple of other people over the weekend and will let you know my way forward on Monday. All I want is to be with my family :D

News Release – Minister Kenney introduces sponsorship restriction to address marriage fraud

Toronto, March 2, 2012 — The Government of Canada has put in place a bar on sponsorship in an ongoing effort to deter people from using a marriage of convenience to come to Canada, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced today.

Regulatory changes now in force mean sponsored spouses or partners will have to wait five years from the day they are granted permanent residence status in Canada to sponsor a new spouse or partner. Until now, a sponsored spouse or partner arriving in Canada as a permanent resident could leave their sponsor and sponsor another spouse or partner themselves, while their original sponsor was still financially responsible for them for up to three years.

“I held town hall meetings across the country to hear from victims of marriage fraud,” said Minister Kenney. “In addition to the heartbreak and pain that came from being lied to and deceived, these people were angry. They felt they had been used as a way to get to Canada. We’re taking action because immigration to Canada should not be built upon deceit.”

Minister Kenney was joined by representatives of Canadians Against Immigration Fraud (CAIF) at today’s announcement.

"We welcome the steps taken by the Honourable Jason Kenney to stop marriage fraud,” said Sam S. Benet, President of CAIF. “These measures will definitely protect the integrity of our immigration system.”

Spousal sponsorship is open to abuse when a person enters into a relationship – such as a marriage or a common law partnership – in order to circumvent Canada’s immigration law. Concerned with the problem, the Minister held online consultations in the fall of 2010 to gather public opinion and ideas on how to best address marriage fraud.

“Many of the people who took part in the consultations made it abundantly clear that marriage fraud poses a significant threat to our immigration system,” added Minister Kenney. “Our government has listened to the victims of marriage fraud and all Canadians, and acted to crack down on those who engage in fraud and abuse Canadians’ generosity and our immigration system.”

Barring such sponsorships is consistent with similar restrictions imposed by Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

The proposal for a five-year sponsorship bar was prepublished in the Canada Gazette on April 2, 2011, and was open for a 30-day public comment period. The changes coming into force today, March 2, are posted on Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s website and will be published in Part II of the Canada Gazette on March 14, 2012.

To show it is serious about cracking down on marriage fraud, CIC is taking a number of steps to deter it. For example, in addition to the sponsorship bar, further public consultations are also expected to begin in the coming weeks on a proposed conditional permanent residence measure. A Notice of Intent proposing the development of this conditional measure was published in the Canada Gazette on March 26, 2011. The measure aims to deter people in newer relationships from using their relationship to gain quick entry to Canada as permanent residents when they have no intention of staying with their sponsor.

In addition, legislation to crack down on crooked consultants came into force in June 2011 and last spring, CIC launched an anti-fraud campaign, which will be relaunched this month. This includes a short video warning people not to be duped into committing marriage fraud. The video directs people to a special link on the CIC website (www.cic.gc.ca/antifraud) to find out how to immigrate to Canada the right way.

I have a question, after reading some posts. Before when i apply for Permanent Residence they used to accept the notarized copies of documents like birth certificate, and academics etc I applied for my wife immigration and i did sent out notarized documents of birth certificate and nikkah nama and marriage registration certificate from nadra.

I was wondering if i shall send out the original documents nikkah nama and birth certificate or the notarized copies will suffice.

You will need to send original documents. I repeat Original documents. I wonder why you guys dont go through the immigration guide they have on their website. It tells you everything and it clearly states that nationals of Pakistan must send all of original documents of the applicant. Is that too hard to understand. I'm not being an ass**** but please read the guide completely before asking questions.

Thanks

You can change only your mailing address into Pakistan if you wish this way you don't have to get Pakistani Pcc.
