Also a rough guideline of the email template that you can follow:

Client ID: XXXXXXXXX
Sponsor's Full Name: (First, Last)
Sponsor's DOB: (Month/Day/Year)
Sponsor's Address: XXXXXXXX
Sponsor's Phone #: XXXXXXXXXX

Applicant's Full Name: (First, Last)
Applicant's DOB: (Month/Day/Year)
Applicant's Passport#: XXXXXXXXX (This can be omitted, I didn't send the Passport #)

Dear Immigration Officer,

With reference to above mentioned my Client ID, I sponsored my wife/husband dated (Month/Day/Year) and sponsorship was approved dated (Month/Day/Year) and file was transferred to Islamabad dated (Month/Day/Year).

I have not received any letter of acknowledgment regarding my application for my wife/husband from your side. Please provide me with her/his Immigration File #.

Best Regards,
Your Name

Good Luck

Well it varies. It took them 5 days to get back to me but once you send them an email, you will get an automated reply stating that you should get a reply within 15 working days. So it could take upto that much time or less. But if you don't, just wait a little bit longer because you don't want to spam their inbox and risk being filtered for sending them too many emails.

Hello

Hi Guys, what files are being worked on in islamabad for spouse cases? is it still october 2010 based on the info you have

^ Yes, according to the recent activity on the forum... October AORs are being worked on at the moment. A few Nov AORs were sighted but Inshallah the beginning of new year should see a lot of activity and things starting to pick up.

As per a few members on this forum who applied in 2010; they are working on October 2010 files currently and there is a few cases pending from summer 2010 who are still waiting for their process to finish. So currently its taking them 12-13 months just to open the file and start processing. The total process is taking anytime from 14-17 months for most of the wife cases and 16-20 months for most of the husband cases.

There are many members here who are contradict each other including Wes. Some says they are working on November/Dec 2010, it takes approximately 9-12 months for most wife cases while husband case' 15-18 months. Confusion and vagues.

Other question is can my wife bring computer (CPU) to Canada or external hard drive which is important for her projects after visa approval ?

Okay I just gave an updated answer based on the current situation. Since we have members waiting from October AOR's to have their initial review done, so I said 12-13 months based on the current speed of CHC-Islamabad. Same with the total process timing, it will increase to 14-17 months by the time October AOR's will get the Visa. WES has always been right on about most of the information.

I don't think they will have any issues with the external hard drive, but its better if you wife keeps the external hard drive with the luggage rather than her handbag. Its useless to bring the CPU in my opinion.

Salam Everyone,

Please can anyone tell, Is the Application processing date is actually the sponsorship approval date?
and the letter sending date by CIC-mississauga about the decision on our application is actually when the file transferred to CIC-Islamabad???

Please help me...

Kind Regards

My application for wife's sponsorship was transferred to Islamabad in late June of 2011. Recently my sister-in-law suddenly remembered that some time in August, she recieved a call where someone was asking if my wife lives there and asking her the home address. Sister-in-law did not sk who was calling. Now we are very confused about it and also upset that she did not inform anyone about it. Could it be a call from CHC Islamabad? Would they call so soon after the application transfer...I am really worried now

If they needed to get in touch they will call again. Don't get upset over missing a call and forgetting to inform someone about it. It happens all the time.

The way I look at it, the date Islamabad Embassy receives the application package is the actual application processing start date. You can check your application status on Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.

Bro why don't you tell her put her project on laptop and there won't be any issue to bring laptop at all. External HD can get damaged in the Luggage or maybe she will have problem through customs. Anyway I always use laptop and USB key, never had problem.
