asalam aleikum all.....do the fellow members send supporting documents via email or normal mail?

I used TCS as well. I wouldn't use normal mail when sending supp docs to CHC-Islamabad.

I told my wife to always use TCS, It's reliable, cheap, and fast normally gets delivenekton the next business day!

Thanks for quick reply!....but,
I am here (Canada) and basically contemplating whether to email them my recent Pakistan trip proof, pics, western union, chats, phone logs etc.....chc hasn't asked for anything yet......would email be better or still send via regular mail?

thanks again!

printing chat logs and skype logs and phone record is a daunting task.......

Ok Dell,
as all other friends mentioned. Do gather all the proofs, write a covering letter that well explains everything that is attached and send everything in a package to CHC Islamabad through TCS or FEDEX. Write the letter from your wife and have her sign at the bottom of the covering letter. Do not forget to clearly mention her file number and date of birth alongwith phone number and contact address.

One 2 ka 4 brother, you will get one soon InshaAllah - I'll pray for you!

On an older thread, someone was asking about the best way to send money to Pakistan;
My two cents:

MoneyGram is good but recently they have added a cap on sending money limit i.e. you can't send more than $2500CAN per transaction. For example if you are planning to send $10000 then it will cost you around 80-90 bucks to transfer the whole money to Pakistan. Apply for Money gram rewards card; that would save you some bucks on each transaction fee.

If amount is more than $2500 CAN then check with Western Union OR Banks (Banks normally don't give you good exchange rates but will wire your whole money in one go/transaction for lesser than MoneyGram's trasnfer fee).

Hundi is the another good option with good exchange rates and a less transfer fee but I think, hundi is more famous in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec etc...) - I would say hundi is not a safe way to send money to anywhere - its like a trust game and you gota do trust on hundi people and if they break that trust then you can't do anything but with MoneyGram, Western Union or banks you play safe!

MoneyGram, Western Union Or banks - pick your option after doing a comparison of transfer fee and offered exchange rates.

I wouldn't send all those pages through email, just don't trust them that they would print everything and put it in your file and sometimes the emails to go their junk as well and they get missed. So from Canada you can use their registered mail service if you want but it does take 2-3 weeks to get there. Fedex would be a lot of money but if you want you can check and get an online qoute.

I doubt most people supporting husbands or wives in Pakistan send over a thousand dollar per month to pakistan anyway so Moneygram is probably the best one out there!

One thing that you can do to save money is that you email everything to you spouse in Pakistan, then he/she can print and TCS it for 120Rs from Pakistan, it would take 24 hrs and you will save quite a bit of money. That's probably the best option for you!

Well, that was general info that I provided and could fit to any scenario; info was not covering specifically people supporting husband/wives.
