I know for some reason they cannot stop travel..... that is impossible that contradicts the charter of freedom and rights or rights or freedom or woteva it is ............. but i am sure it would not be applied to already filed applicants ............

PR good for 3 years until become the citizen for now,still on landing papers can travel if they extend the expiry.

In one way this proposal would be good. Spouses did not have to wait for years back home. They would get conditional visa within maximum 3 monhts. Its mean in some cases sponsored wife or husband can be here within a month. Who cares for 2 years PR waiting since its genuine marriage. Conditional visa holder will be able to travel anytime for sure.

Not just the process. People will have conditional VISAs for two years after they land and after 2 years they can apply and become PR

They have been talking about it for so long but I guess finally they will implement it. Thank GOD my wife has landed already!

This is insane! It should only be for people who are applying now, not people like us who are (inshAllah) at their last stage!

But the question remains that will it be implemented to newer cases only or would be applied retroactively? Including those people who are waiting for their passport return!

Also, wes786, I don't know whether you read or not but I got a call from CIC-ISB asking if my medical was done. They just wanted to confirm it. Nothing on e-cas has changed (medical received bhi nahi hai) and my address hasn't disappeared or anything. What do you feel is going on?

this is a good step if they will issue conditional visa within 3 or 4months and then PR after 2 years....ppl who get married just for visa and deceive their spouses once they r in Canada...now they cant do it....
but it shouldnt be implemented on the cases who have been in process for last 1 or 2 years...

rather, once the policy is implemented, cases filed after that would be under that policy if im not wrong...

i think that this law is good becoz we dont have to suffer more by wating to be reunite. aur jahan tak baad hai 2 saal baad pr ki tu kis ko parwa hai waise bhi processing time ke hisab se dekhe to 1.5 se 2 saal baad hi tu milta hai pr.

i agree wht u ,,,,visa within 3 to 4 month waoh ,,,,it doesnt matter to waiting 2 years for PR with ur loved onces.

if u go to cic website ..on 27 october they updated on step 1 but they still havn't declared about the step 2 may be they are now more focusing on implementation may be by the mid of nov they declared the date with whom this law will implement....

lol ....... that is exectly what i was thinking ...... worst part is that PR visa issued from ISB is nothing its jus entry visa ...... wen u land ...... and it is implemented .... they would not issue PR card at landing ...... they would give u some other documents ......... saying that u can stay for two years .......... so they can basically control it for those applicants who would be landing after law is approved and implemented ......... does not matter ur passport went for visa stamp ... depends how quickly they can implement. .............

Cases back home would take about 1 year for sure to process coz of US security measures imposed on Canada .... you have to have to go through security background checks before u can enter Canada..... so basically the sponsorship process might take lil less time ........as they will not verify ur marriage is genuine but security checks takes about 9 to 10 months to be done ...... thats the time people will be staying there ........ and total PR process would be about 3 years ......
Good thing they would not check ur marriage is genuine or not .......... they will let u go with that and would let u live at least thats the whole thing ........there are positives and negatives to it..... its not that its all bad ....... but citizenship would be prolonged .....bad for those who wanna get citizenship and work some where else ..... good for those who wanna live in Canada .......

lol .... security check only ...... itself takes abt 10 months ........ they cannot let any one come without that being done ....... do u think they would do it after person is in Canada .... well that will nvr happen ...... it would take abt 1 year in Pakistan and 2 years in Canada .............
