it is not that i m denying the importance of rukhsati n reception but the thing is that it was a complete arrange marriage n i was studying at that time so all the thing were decided mutualy between the parents themselves n they did what they though rite actualy unluckily u were not there to tell them the importance of rukhsati n reception.........

You gotta do what you gotta do. If they ask you to send Rukhsati Pics, you do not have any other options but to send them what they are asking. Its not your parents who are going to decide if you get the visa but unfortunately the ball in the court of the visa officer now. The role of your parents and for that matter the parents of your husband, has ended after they decided to do the arrange marriage for their kids. Now you or better your husband need to take charge and ensure that Rukhsati is done ASAP. Parents do not have sufficient knowlege about visa complications and they decide according to what they know and what they know is not necessarily practical in all circumstances.

If you dont do Rukhsati then you would be sitting away from your husband for another couple of years because you will NOT get the visa. Period.

CIC operates according to its own way and any screaming and hollering we do about the way they operate does not change the way they do things. Afterall we are just lowly applicants who want to get reunited with our loved ones.

Very importrant to get that done and send them the update before you recieve an objection letter god forbid. Hopefully your family would understand and sort everthing out!

i wish my in-laws read all this so that they understand why i emphasis on reception.........but........

First off! Congrats to all who got their PPR / Visa! I wish you all the best and a safe trip.

As One 2 ka 4 and Wes bhai have advised me in the past, it is best to do the rukhsati. I had my Engagement, Nikka with reception done. Then, I heard cases of objection letters by chc-isb being sent out and want more proof with Rukhsati proof etc.

So earlier this year, we decided to go ahead and do the Rukhsati ceremony with dinner etc on my next visit to Karachi (10 days and counting!). Question i was pondering was to voluntary send the photos and other proof or wait for their letter, if any? Because I DID have a Reception so in the application i said we had a reception with 300 people etc, which is true. Not sure how Rukhsati will fall under?

Hmm....

On another note, considering that we are all hearing congrats and cheers, how long did your total processing time take? (please state if husband or wife case).

We can do our own sample space here and get an idea of time frame. I dunno when the online timeline updates. I think every 3 months.

Till then, take care all and have a good weekend. Another cheer for those who got great news!
