I have got nikafied with my maternal cousin in Jan 2011 and it is our love arrangement. I just wanted to ask that would they create problems in getting married to your cousin? Or would this make my case strong ? My husband has already filed the case from Canada on April 7'2011 and are expecting the reply this or next week...And fyi my ruksati is planned after I get my visa.. Is it the right decision or not?

PS- I'm living in Pakistan since my birth..

Salam hinajameel1984,

Your case is kind of like mine. I married my cousin in May 2009 and it was a nikkah only. After this we applied and our case has been in process since September 2009. They were not satisfied that our marriage is genuine and put us in the interview queue. I went in December 2010 and had my rukhsati and now in March 2011 they took us out the interview queue and my husband got asked for re-med. If you will proceed with nikkah only you may get approval but it will be one hell of a long ride there. My best advice to you will be to save yourself the headache and trouble and have the rukhsati now before they send you an objection letter. Everyone on the forum who had nikkah only received an objection letter so it will save you a lot of time and heartache to do the full wedding.

Exactly what I said on the previous page so we suggest that you get the rukhsati done. However, people can't always do or are able to what others have suggested so its totally up to you but according to what we have seen in the past is what we are sharing to help others for future cases...GOOD LUCK!

salam hina
You have received some very good advise from the people on this forum.
Since you have just filed your application, it is the best time for you and your husband to start preparing for rukhsati. There are people on this forum who have been suffering one way or another because of not having done rukhsati

so just prepare for the long wait, make sure you don't leave any loose ends , make your case as strong as you can and then finally leave everything to Allah and hope that you don't have to go through the long process..and may God make this process easy for you and your husband.

why don't you give them a call and find out what's taking them that long...they usually get the cheque cashed about 1-2 weeks after mailing in the caips forms.

Salam zs101,

I am also September 2009 AOR...my husbands file was in queue for interview since June 2010 and until now we had not heard of the date for the interview. However, my husbands interview now got waived ALLHUMDULILLAH because I went to visit him and sent more proof of our relationship. They were doubting it before but since I sent that I ordered CAIPS and found out it was waived. You should get caips and see why they want interview. Also, I dont think they send re-pcc or re-med to people in interview queue because after my husbands interview got waived in caips it said they will request for re-pcc and re-med which we received after they decided to waive the interview.

Anyway I will do dua that Allah ease this time for you

thanks mahmed17! please remember me in your duas. I have the same timeline as yours and we had the nikkah done before and then the ruksati. What kind of proof did you send them?
