I mailed an child passport renewal application end of July and still waiting. Timeline in post above.

Here's the timeline:

Mailed application to Gatineau: July 28
Delivered to Gatineau: Aug 1
Credit card charged: Aug 4

Nothing since then. We have travel date in early December so still have lots of time for it to appear...

I think its time you contacted them to get an update……or to get file transferred

Just choose NO. You didnt have a canadian passport before...if it is your first time applying

Yes, it came through Canada Post ExpressPost but after my passport.

I applied to renew my child's passport in mid-June through a Service Canada Centre. I was told that it would take 3 months. Today I called 1-800-567-6868 and was told the application was approved. However, it has just gone for printing. Printing would take 3 weeks and another week for mailing. So, at least another month to go.

Over 5 months to renew a passport - ridiculous. It takes 1 - 2 months back home.

Just got the passport with Xpresspost. Required signature. Finally it's over!! 17weeks as per website.

Hi All,
update from my application. I applied in person on June 13th 2022 at Service Canada. I show them the Canadian certificate and they gave me back immediately. I paid the fees and right away they gave me the file number. On that page it was printed expected mail out date (Aug 10th) but the officer told me that is unlikely. I did not have any travel plan at that time.
2 weeks ago I booked the ticket by end of November to Europe. I called them to say my travel date. They told me the application has approved and asked me to call again the next week to have the tracking number. I called yesterday and the officer told me the tracking number (Canada Post). When I was checking online was still ready. Today the package has been scanned and sent from Mississauga. Most likely I will receive it next week. Finally! Basically 17 weeks as indicated online.

I am starting my Week #22 since I have applied for my Passport through mail-in application.... and I am still waiting....

You need to get an update.
Call their helpline and tell em its been 22 weeks. As well as try to get MP office involved. Some are not helpful, try others close by to your area if you can.

Received my passport today! Still waiting for my husband and my son's passports (all sent in the same envelope and charged the same day). So pleasantly surprised with the speed! Haven't received citizenship certificates back yet, though.
