I'm looking for similar info for my mom. She is a sponsored parent who will turn 65 this October. But I'm not sure from when I should count her living years in Canada.
She lived in Canada on Supervisa (TRV) from 2014-2016 (over 2 years)
She then lived in Canada as a PR from 2016-2023
She got...
My mom got the oath letter via email on 27 Feb 2023 and took the online oath on 15 Mar 2023. Here's how it went:
It was scheduled at 8:15 am by Niagara Falls office. We were ready from 8 am. We were let into the Zoom meeting room few minutes after 8:15. I could't rename her with the seat no...
Well, my mom, being over 54, is exmept from test. The oath letter talks about e-certificate vs paper one, but doesn't specify when/how to apply. Hence, I asked. BTW, her oath is on 15 March.
It has become impossible to get hold of an agent nowadays. I tried 8-9 am, 11-12pm, 3-4 pm - all agents are always busy. What's the point of having a call centre then?
I completely misunderstood the group application process. I was applying for Visitor Visas for my in-laws using the portal. I created a group and started filling out the application. I mentioned that his spouse (MIL) would accompany him. I uploaded both their documents together, paid $185 ($100...
I can't second that. I agree that there is no LICO requirement from the host for a TRV. However, if the to-be visitor decides to stay longer (up to 6 months) in Canada on TRV, it will put some strain on the host's finances.
Although the finances of the applicant weighs far more than that of...
Please, update the tracker for my mom:
Oath invitation email: Feb 27, 2023
Oath ceremony scheduled: Mar 15, 2023 (via Zoom)
I've been trying to login to her account since, with no luck, it just keeps spinning
That was my plan too. I will perhaps combine 1) applicant's finance, 2) our invitation letter, and 3) our finance together and upload as additional doc. Hope it remains under 2 MB.
No they don't. However, they got Canadian Visa 2-3 times before and I provided my FIL's UCI#. They also have a valid Australian Visa which the portal should not know.
I am filling out the new portal for visitor visa on behalf of my in-laws. I got little confused seeing the list of documents they ask at the end of the application. I will greatly appreciate if someone can asnwer these. Thanks.
Where do I upload the invitation letter? As an "additional doc"...
In your case, I think Supervisa (SV) will be a better fit provided you meet the requirements.
SV had a better success rate than VV during my time. The main difference is:
The Visa Officer (VO) will give more importance to your wife and your financial condition in Canada for SV. On the...
Sorry, I was out of country for a while. I actually shared the sample invitation letters in a separate thread. Click on "invitation letter" below in my signature. :)
