Hello everyone, i am new to this website, i am one of those applicants whose files were transferred from buffalo to ottawa, my application was received at buffalo on 27 june, 2011, medicals done on 15 october, 2011. I applied for gcms notes on 29th july,2012 and waiting for them to come. I have no idea where my file is, never got any e-mail from buffalo or ottawa. I have seen many people here on this forum who applied in feb/march/april are still waiting, i dont know when my time is gonnna come, anyways i congratulate all those applicants who have just received passport requests from Ottawa, you guys deserve it. I am happy for you guys. I will update once i get my gcms notes. Thanks

You should be getting GCMS, 1 month from the date you applied. I think most applicants here got transferred to Ottawa, and a few got PPR yesterday. I hope we these PPR were not one offs and we keep hearing applicants getting PPR from Ottawa ...

Question for Ottawa applicants - Could someone share, how does Ottawa send the request for PPR, is it usually via email? or snail mail?

It would be great if our friends who received a PPR from Ottawa recently share their inputs! Thanks QB.

It depends on the mode of communication you selected when filling out your forms.

Do you know when you will be getting your GCMS? If you can please update us, it will help us in predicting our timelines.

My timeline is pretty much the same as yours my file is transferred to Ottawa on July 7th too. I got my application update through my local MP and they say that the processing time at Ottawa is 12 months that means I should wait till July 7th 2013 for my PR. I hope thats not the case.

I sure hope not we have 12 months more to wait since our files got transferred. Most of us here have crossed the 15 month wait period, I believe our checks should have been completed by now so do not see the point of 12 months wait period. What exactly did your MP tell you about your case?

Exactly my case. I am from Montreal. I contacted my local MP and got this response. He also said that your file has not been assigned to an immigration officer yet. This worries me too.

So instead of waiting if I go to my home country to get married, and apply for my wife's work permit based on my post graduate work permit. My only concern here is if receive my PR, while her work permit app is still in process what happens to her work permit application? Thanks.

Hi Fallen_hero,
when did you applied ? are you a QSW and what is the NOC code of yours.
Yesterday only I contacted MP and they said they will get the updates.....

if the application is not assigned to any immigration officer that means they have not even looked into your file. this is too bad man.

Regards
Syed

Yes. I got CSQ, my PR application was received on May 31, 2011, then medical received sometime in Nov 2011. And then this buffalo fiasco has kept all of us reeling. I don't know what NOC is, but I have been working for an year now.

I am in this same shoe also. I have been waiting for 14months now and I'm dying to have my spouse with me.
Can someone in the forum advice if it is possible that she is granted TRV even as our PR is still awaited?

Thanks.
