Done worrying. I am traveling a lots, like, A lots. by the time i take my test the officer will see a passport full of stamps. Who cares! i LIVED 1095 days according to the law and i am getting my citizenship!
they dont care about travels if one has a constant job. i have the same job for 9 years and have traveled a lot. the officer didn't push the matter much.

I've never really understood all this fuss about working, changing jobs -- it's like an informal requirement. Really, the base requirement is 1095 days, settled in Canada, no criminal record -- what is the deal with 'preferring' people who don't change jobs, buy a house, etc.

because there is no actual proof for 1095 days of residency. if one leaves canada the second day after getting PR and returns a month before filling application, how will the officer determine if the person stayed in canada? the person will only have one entry record for the whole period.

Not my point -- you could work a different job every year, and it would demonstrate residency. However, many people --as you do above -- say things like " i have the same job for 9 years and have traveled a lot.". Now, maybe if you work constantly but change jobs often it has no effect; but I suspect that CIC looks on that as a sign of being 'unsettled' in Canada.

Just a hunch, probably wrong.

what i meant was that if someone has a constant factor in the timeline, not just in employment department, it indicates to the officer that the person probably made the visits as vacation. also for a job like mine, i have to be at work in person every day (unless i take vacation). so things like that helps. obviously if my job is being a photographer for last 9 years, that's not much of help in proving stability.

at the end, it's all about the feel good factor. remember, to the officer, citizenship is a privilege. they want to be certain before giving it to the applicant.

heard way too many things about how interview officer giving applicant an hard time, demanding entry record from other countries, like usa. I am gonna fulfil their wishes. I paid 25 bucks for hk's immigration department to pull my entry/exit record. I am gonna apply to the USA for the same record even i heard they never get back to you. I am not leaving any rooms for whoever will interview me a cent of excuses to delay my application process. It is never fair. i hope i will get it before the election.

There is some news from the committee proceedings. It looks like we should relax for at least one month, as the debates and 6 meetings on Bill C-24 will start only on April 28, 2014.

"The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, the Committee undertake a study on the subject matter of Bill C-24, An Act to amend the Citizenship Act and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, starting on Monday, April 28, 2014.

That six (6) meetings be devoted to hear from witnesses as follows:

• The Hon. Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) officials appear on Monday, April 28, 2014, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• The Committee hear from stakeholders for an additional (5) five meetings.

That the total number of witnesses for this study be divided among the recognized parties according to their standings in the House of Commons: fifteen (15) for the Government (Conservative Party), eleven (11) for the Official Opposition (New Democratic Party) and two (2) for the other opposition party (Liberal Party). This is exhausting to read back and forth between various Bill C-24 posts, can we stick with only one of them going forward for updates and discussions?
