Thanks!

Yeah, I'm not worried since I got confirmation over the phone and through ECAS. My CIC is still not working though despite me calling as well as reporting the technical issue. I'll try to call again soon to see if they can help me.

I see many people saying CIC vs ECAS...what's the difference? I always go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp to check my status...is there another location?

ECAS shows more details. Did u set up an online account through GCKey and linked your application?

I just got my AOR :) I hope the rest of the group will receive theirs soon and can share their good news :-*

The update you posted looks to be you CIC account, not ECAS. Just clarifying as some other ppl are getting the two confused.

Lol...May be

I was referring to client application status or CAS. This detail is available under my submitted application. Heading is "Application/profile details". It has columns n rows in form of a table. I got access to it after linking my application and after reading cic help centre FAQs. I read sm other threads n assumed this is wat sm people called (electronic client application status) or ECAS

When i access info by "check my application status" tool, it shows 3 sentences telling when application was received, wen thy sent me correspondence and wen thy started processing.

Can u plzzzz tell if there is anywhere else i should be checking for status?? May be thybapproved me n I didn't check
Thank you :)

There are two places to check the status of your applicastion.

ECAS: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/authenticate.do

and CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/link.asp

CIC is far more informative than ECAS

How long did it take everyone to be able to access ECAS? I was able to link my application last week but still no luck with ECAS.

When you go to My Application on CIC website, you have to go directly to "Check your application status" (ECAS) instead of clicking the "Create an Account or Sign In" (MyCIC). ECAS is the tool you use to check your application status by entering your UCI or Application number or Receipt Number plus the Sponsor/Sponsored Person's Last name, DOB and Place of Birth.

You might need to wait a couple of days or weeks to be able to access ECAS though, because some people get their AOR1 first before being able to check their application status through ECAS. MyCIC (the one you are referring to) gives you only the status of your PR application while ECAS shows you both the Sponsorship and the PR application status (as long as you use the sponsor's details).

Please take note also that the sponsored person and the sponsor have different UCI numbers. :) My husband was provided a different UCI number on our AOR2.
