I called using this number 1-613-944-4000 which is long distance but I got through to a guy in about 10 minutes and he was helpful although they can't really do anything for you but to tell you if your file has been looked at or not. Maybe try that number.

It said they have to many calls right now and cant transfer my call to any free agent :/

Maybe try in the morning. I called at around 10 eastern time today.

Are you the applicant or the sponsor? I am the applicant and I cannot check ECAS with my details (I have a UCI from when I participated in the IEC program).

My wife has a UCI number (it is on her Canadian citzenship certificate) and I cannot use that either.

I have read that some people cannot check ECAS until after they receive sponsor approval but it would be nice if CIC were consistent.

Applicant.

So, my husband called the 1-613 number. They told him there was nothing they could do because he called Foreign Affairs. They said even if you call the toll free number you wont get anyone to speak to, they did mention it was odd we have yet to hear anything from CIC as they know how the system works. So my question to everyone is how in the heck are you guys getting Immigration officers? My husband said he is two seconds away from driving to Mississauga as were only about 40 minutes away from there lol to find out what the heck is going on.... Im so discouraged, any advice on how to get a person on the phone?

This process has been pretty frustrating for me and my wife. My wife is a citizen and working in Canada, while I continue to work in India. We dated each other for 8 years and finally got married in June.

We had sent our application package on Sept. 3 and received a request for updated form on Oct 11. We sent the updated forms using Canadapost, which reached CIC office on Sept 17.

CIC took around 36 days to open our initial application package, hope to hear back from them sooner this time around.

I've been calling all morning, their experiencing a high number of calls and cannot transfer me... Geeze oh petes.. lol

SO, IT WAS RECEIVED! She said everything looks good, she is sending off a letter to Mississauga so they can hurry up and send my husband his verification of SA! We will see, FINALLY some answers

The guy told me that because they received my app for the second time on Sept. 29 that they haven't checked it yet.

I think it's better to send emails. I send one yesterday and got response this morning. At least I confirmed that they received my updated form
Sep 11, and I'm in line from sep 11. Still need to wait another week or two.

Can they do that? If so I will ask someone to do that for me. I called so many times, but all of them told me to wait another two months. My timeline is half a month earlier than you..

I sent them an e-mail about a week ago. The next day they asked me for more information. That same day I sent them the information and never heard back from them. Maybe I'm just cursed. Lol
