Will they be able to process the applicants package without the police clearance? Or are they completely unable to process the rest of it until they have it? Like will the processing be significantly delayed until we receive the police check?

It really depends on the VO and immigration officer working on your case. It certainly takes time for them to send a letter requesting you for the info and then for you to reply them. It's possible that the immigration officer won't work on your case right away even if you reply the next day.

Didnt the agent tell you to where your app will be sent? I was thinking that my case would go to CPC-O but she told me it will be delivered to HK.

I still haven't gotten the SA email, although the call center agent said it should be here by Wednesday and if not to call.

I just want to confirm that my application was forwarded to Ottawa. Not knowing that makes me paranoid it was sent to Los Angeles or something. I still haven't seen my PA side go "in process".

No. I should have had my husband ask, but we were tired and forgot. Wednesday if we haven't received SA we'll call back.

I dont know why so many people get confused with this question. It is clearly stated on CIC's QA section that the processing time is calculated when they receive your app in calendar days.

I've been on this forum since last August and everything I have seen suggests that the 43 days (or whatever the current time would be) is when they received the application in the mail, not the processing date.

The confusion wasn't because of anything the website says. It's because even though the website says that and all our experience indicates this call center agents have been telling people that it's from the date they started processing the application, not the date it was received.

I agree that it's based on the date that they receive your application.

The pr process sucks and it is hard to get a trv granted when u have a pr application in process....starting to get frustrated and depressed. ...i miss my wife and since i am a canadian i dont get to live the girl i married to just like all other people. ..my bad...i dont believe this system when refugees can come to canada in less than 3 months aftwr all screening and background checks when a tax payer like me who is contributing to canadas economy everyday and spending all my life working for the older population and mentally and developmentally ill people and my sweetheart need to wait fn 19 months to come live with me...freek

Don't give up hope. I know applications from NDVO have been showing signs of speeding up. They still haven't gotten rid of the backlog, but your application will most likely take well under 19 months. The times listed on the CIC website are worst case scenarios.

Just read somewhere ndvo stopped or slowed down processing 2016 application and working on 2015 now ....sucks....hate this feeling

Be careful what you read on here. A lot of the rumors that go around here are all speculation. Just because some 2015 applicants are being processed right now and no one from 2016 has been approved lately doesn't mean they have entirely stopped processing 2016 applications for now. We don't know enough. It's illogical to assume that processing for 2016 applicants has completely halted simply because they haven't been approved in a month.

Just because some 2015 applicants are being processed right now and no one from 2016 has been approved lately doesn't mean they have entirely stopped processing 2016 applications for now. We don't know enough. It's illogical to assume that processing for 2016 applicants has completely halted simply because they haven't been approved in a month.

You have more solid answer and i see you makes comments about stuffs only you are sure about otherwise u always say it is ur opinion /speculation /etc...which i do if am not sure about something. Ty for helping me to keep my hopes up dear!

No problem ;D. And I could end up being wrong, but I don't think so in this case. Either way, it's just too early to assume anything. There's also the possibility that NDVO has recently trained some new case processors with those quick applications. If they have hired new processors, then the backlog would probably be cleared up faster, especially if the speculations that many officers have been retrained are true (the immigration minister claimed before that they had learned some techniques from processing refugee cases and said that those would be implemented in Family Class applications, but no one has seen any hard proof of this being implemented yet).

Your wife will be in Canada before you know it. Someday after she lands you'll look back on the process and remember the waiting and think "Wow, that feels like it was yesterday". This is only temporary.

Officially over the 40 day mark now. No news by this time next week and i might give a call. Been so buay here that the first 40 days have actually flown by.

CIC has been inconsistent, maybe every 2 weeks?
