I submitted upto 25 pictures of my husband and I, while I lived in Pakistan after my marriage for 3 months. My lawyer didn't let me give any other proof of this wedding, I have 50-60 plane tickets from Canada and states. Our text messages and calls for a year. Should I send all this stuff? My lawyer only sent 25 pictures of my bridal shower, dholki, ubtan, baraat, Ruksati, walima, after daawat, honeymoon, dinners.

I just don't want to waste another minute while they request additional documents.

Awesome thank you.

Will they be able to process the applicants package without the police clearance? Or are they completely unable to process the rest of it until they have it? Like will the processing be significantly delayed until we receive the police check?
The applicant's application can't be finalized until the FBI report is received. This is generally the last step before passport request (if PPR is not waived). The visa officer can certainly process the rest of the application and make a decision about relationship validity/waiving the interview before it's received, but the application can't be approved until everything is received. this depends on the specific visa officer and how they handle applications. the only reason it would significantly delay applicant approval is because of the time it takes you to get it from the FBI. Generally speaking, i believe people get DM 2-4 weeks after submitting the FBI report after it's requested by ottawa. It's usually best to send it in as soon as it's received (after sponsor approval), so that it can be connected to the application before it starts processing.

I talked to an agent just now. It's been 43 days since AOR1. The agent was very polite and informed me that the 43 days should be counted from when they start processing the application (May 5 in my case). That means that I have till June 17 (according to the agent's calculations) for SA.

Hi there!
My husband and I are living in Brazil as well!!!
What's your timeline??
Application was received April 12, and AOR on May 3. We have access to e-cas for both sponsor and applicant. We are getting anxious because we've seen posts from people who are also applying for common-law and have had calls from CIC saying they need IMM 5409 or to change the date of common-law from 12 months after moving in together to the date they moved in together. We didn't do either of these but haven't been contacted by CIC at all.

Where are you guys from in Brazil, and where are you moving to in Canada? :)

this is from google, i have never called cic from outside of canada. hopefully this works.. "If you are calling from outside Canada, you should dial 613.944.4000 and enter 1-1-2 to be redirected to the CIC Call Centre."

you can use gmail.. they can call anywhere in North America free.
Thanks for this! We will try the 613 number. Unfortunately, they seem to be blocking all VOIP calls as well so no workaround there :-[

Why did you not do IMM 5409? Have you considered getting it done and sending it in?

That's not true at all. Plenty of people have had help with their applications from call center agents who have accepted going by 43 days after the date it's received. It's NOT counted by the time they start processing your application. Yet another case of an agent who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Call again to get a different agent.

I still haven't gotten the SA email, although the call center agent said it should be here by Wednesday and if not to call.

I just want to confirm that my application was forwarded to Ottawa. Not knowing that makes me paranoid it was sent to Los Angeles or something. I still haven't seen my PA side go "in process".

funny enough, my MP assistance said the same thing... the average processing day starts from the day they showed "in process".
i dont even know who is right or wrong.

I've been on this forum since last August and everything I have seen suggests that the 43 days (or whatever the current time would be) is when they received the application in the mail, not the processing date.

it won't be sent to los angeles. it has to go to ottawa first. ottawa then decides if an interview is required, and then will forward the application to los angeles. right now, all that's been looked at is the sponsor application and completeness of the package.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I'm not expecting to need an interview; I'm just paranoid ;D.
