Thanks! Wondering if Decoy24601 or anyone else can clear some fog for my partner and myself.

My partner went back to the doctor's office upon request by the doctor's office, now a biopsy, a CT scan and blood test are ordered for her thyroid condition. Here comes these questions:

1. The doctor claims there's a reply from the Canadian Embassy requesting further tests be done on her thyroid condition and provide professional opinion on "how will the condition pan out in 5-10 years and if that will affect her ability to work". Well, it's an upfront medical, will the Embassy really response to an un-existing case? Secondly, does it make sense for the doctor to write report on "how will the condition pan out in 5-10 years and if that will affect her ability to work" for a Family sponsorship sponsoring common law partner case (when excess demand doesn't apply to spouses)? Just wondering if that's a little jumping the gun and doctor ordering excessive testings at such an early stage.

2. Since a biopsy is invasive to some extent, and the current processing time is quoted 17 months, I certain don't want my partner to be "on the table" again in 12 months should our case is longer than 12 months to be approved since all medical reports will be expired then. In light of this factor, is it desirable to push the biopsy be done later? If so, how many month of delay should make sense (CIC-Missisauga received our application April 18 per courier delivery notice)? VO should be Hong Kong, I see threads some applicants claim to be requested for re-medical. Wondering if we should wait at least until SA or AOR2 is received or even longer?

Well, we are not against the idea of getting her condition cleared just even for our own sake, we just want to avoid unnecessary pain, risk, money and time spent if at all possible.

Thank you!

I hope everything works out well. The medical condition shouldn't effect their decision though. Family is family and there is no income requirement either. The doctor did reassure us that he didn't think there would be a problem for us. My husband had thyroid cancer 4 years ago and takes hormone supplements and has to get check ups every year. He's been getting biopsies every year after that on the lymph nodes in that area. Sometimes they are larger than other times and they just keep giving him biopsies but everything has been negative. I had shown the doctor I saw for the med exam an official document from the hospital that summarizes his situation. I translated that as well and it was attached to the med exam. The doctor did say that if the cancer had been 6 years ago, they wouldn't have had a second thought about it and I wouldn't have needed to translate the documents. I really hope we're not asked to do more tests and things. My husband has a hospital phobia since what happened 4 years ago.

Hi there,

I sent my application on Mar 31, and CIC received on April 1. But I found out there was a few mistakes on my application so I sent additional documents on April 8 again. I haven't got any response from them yet. I hope they will gather my documents , don't sent it back to me

It's official, application sent this morning! Guaranteed to get there tomorrow by 10:30am. Let the waiting begin...

Hello All,

Am going to apply for Canada immigration and am a married person.

Can you please help me whether i need to fill the application along with my spouse or later i can do once after filling for me alone and getting PR

In second case, any chances on questions like why you haven't filled along with spouse in visa interviews or some where?

We send a completed application package. It includes the sponsor part and the applicant part and all the proofs and documents. The payments, you can do later but I think the application is sent together.

You probably should have waited to send the additional documents as it will be a challenge to get them connected without a UCI number or other information. You may want to consider sending them again once you have some more information. It of course depends on what was missing.

I sent in my application for spousal sponsor yesterday (25/04/16), and they have received it today (26/04/16). Now the wait begins...

By spousal sponsor you mean the complete package including the applicants part?

Yes the complete package including the sponsor and applicant documents. Btw, how do you guys get to add your stats such as app filed date, AOR dates beside your profile? I'm having a hard time finding it under any of the setting options? Thanks

That's great news. If your information you sent is about the sponsor I would consider sending it again with the number. If it is about the applicant I would consider waiting to send it to the VO that is handling the application.

congrats on all those who sent their apps today!

remember both sponsor and applicant forms need to be submitted as one application package or it will get returned to you.

probably should have waited, but wait till they contact you and you get a file number then try contacting them to see if they received it.
