Thanks for drawing my attention to this. My wife and I signed all the forms last night. Just redid the IMM1344 form and will reprint today!

The website says the form was updated March 2016, so I think as long as you downloaded the form initially during April that you're fine. I'm pretty sure that the form was updated before I downloaded it anyways, since seeing March 2016 next to the form seems familiar.

I will ask my husband to sign this form and will get the form by next week. My only worry is what if another form gets updated before I submit the application.

As far as I remember, I checked the website last week and the form was not updated. I think they just uploaded the new form this weekend.

I doubt that, seeing as how it says the form was updated March 2016. I don't think it was very recent.

I downloaded all the forms 2 weeks ago and i had the old one. march must have been when it was updated but not uploaded.

Maybe. 2 weeks ago was still in the end of March though, so it could have been updated in the very end of March.

Oh, well, I'll see if my application gets returned or if they ask for an updated version. I submitted mine a week ago and downloaded new forms before I packaged it up, so hopefully I got the most recent one.

We sent off our application on April 2nd and it was received and signed for today. I downloaded form IMM1344E again on April 5th and it was the old one, so it has only been updated recently. That means the form we sent was the old one, do you think they have some leeway in a situation such as this? as for us that was unavoidable as they changed it after we mailed it.

Weird. It's odd that the website says March, then. I think they do have some leeway with this, but I also think it's up to the discretion of the person opening your packet and checking everything. I've seen people in similar situations on this forum get theirs sent back and I've seen others asked for an updated version of the form and some don't have anything happen and their application proceeds as normal.

ive read somewhere that they can accept the old version ONLY if its the most recent older version which yours are. I think itll be ok.

When you look at the properties for the new form it says it was edited by CIC on March 17th, but it for sure wasn't available for download until the last week or so. Looking at CICs documentation to form changes in the past, they have offered grace periods, so for example they will likely continue accepting the older form until the end of April 2016 and then the new form must be used or face having you application sent back.

There are many examples of people using forms that are way older than this one currently is, and they never run into any issues. Also after speaking to an immigration lawyer about two months ago, he mentioned that with the changes happening in CIC, they are becoming more lenient on Family Class applications, and not returning them as much for smaller errors. Instead they are getting tougher on EE applicants apparently.

This must be a really recent update. I sent mine off on March 31st, and checked the forms while at the Purolator!

I'd be surprised (and pissed) if they sent it back!

I think since it's such a recent update that we're safe. I think there is a bit of a grace period, as Gravy said. I'm worried too.

Sure all is fine. I just updated mine as i havent sent it yet. Co sidering they recieved yours after the file changed i doubt its an issue.

I had a look and cant tell the difference between either.

Yes there is no difference. I called CIC yesterday just to make sure and the lady said if you have sent the application before the application form was updated(in this case it is 9th April, my guess as I was checking the website everyday) then you are safe.
