Any form of official government ID stating your name and DOB. A passport for example. Also a citizenship card or residence card. From my understanding anything that identifies who you are and is official or from a government.joyceebee said:hello forum mates! i would like to ask what is a "National Identity Document".. What are the examples? Thank you..
Actually, the one that is mentioned in the application is something a bit different. It would be if a country required its citizens to have some sort of national ID card. I don't know which countries this applies to, but it does exist.Gary_87 said:Any form of official government ID stating your name and DOB. A passport for example. Oh right. So places like china which state all citizens must carry their od card with them.Decoy24601 said:Actually, the one that is mentioned in the application is something a bit different. Yeah, I think that's an example. The closest thing the US has would probably be a social security card, but it still isn't a national identity document. It's not even something that is required to have. If someone applying doesn't have one you can just tick the box that says "no" on the question that asks if the applicant has a national identity document. This confused me a fair amount the first time I looked at the application.Gary_87 said:Oh right. So places like china which state all citizens must carry their od card with them.
Europeans carry identity cards and with them we can fly without our passports between European countries. It'a also a form of ID, like the passport.Decoy24601 said:Yeah, I think that's an example. Ah, interesting. I didn't know that.neetwo80 said:Europeans carry identity cards and with them we can fly without our passports between European countries. It'a also a form of ID, like the passport.
Congrats ;D. Getting my meds and pictures done was a great feeling. Hopefully, the police certificate and option C come in soon. Good luck! (I had to wait 18 weeks for my FBI background check for the US >.> I was pretty peeved to say the least. I'm very certain that they either temporarily misplaced my packet or got it out of order. It was supposed to take a few weeks less.)Gary_87 said:Ok, all booked in for my meds next monday and got the immigration photos today!
Literally just waiting on my UK police certificate and my wife's option C. (I know its not needed anymore but we cant get her last tax assessment cos she cant log into her CRA account).
Almost done!
think the FBI is notoriously long. The UK one should only take 10 days but its been about 14 so going to call when they open later.Decoy24601 said:Congrats ;D. It is... and it's been slowly getting longer. A couple years or so ago the FBI switched to a new online system, which created a 3 month backlog that hasn't decreased at all. All for a piece of paper that doesn't even have security features. 2 weeks seems so much shorter ;D.Gary_87 said:think the FBI is notoriously long. yep! not really much to complain about here but still haha.Decoy24601 said:It is... and it's been slowly getting longer. I didn't have to bring any paperwork and I was asked almost no questions. They gave me a health questionnaire to fill out which was short. The main thing she asked me is if my asthma was well controlled. Excessive demand doesn't apply for spouses, which is one thing the doctor reminded me while asking questions. I doubt his previous thyroid cancer will negatively affect your application at all because of that. If they do ask you more questions because of that, don't worry, because even though they may known in your circumstance that excessive demand doesn't apply they still have to ask questions as if it did. For spouses they're more concerned about infectious diseases that could be a danger to the public.neetwo80 said:We have our meds appointment tomorrow in Milan. Gotta drive 4 hours to get there. Hopefully, no traffic. Still nervous about the visit as my husband had thyroid cancer 4 years ago. I really hope it's not gonna be a strike against us. For those of you who had an appointment, did they request extra documents or ask many questions?
Thanks. I didn't know about the excessive demand thing. So good to know. Thanks so much!Decoy24601 said:I didn't have to bring any paperwork and I was asked almost no questions. Edit: Oh, I did have to have an extra blood test to check if my kidneys were functioning well enough, because my BMI is over 25 (it's 28). I don't look my weight and am a fairly healthy person and am not even close to obese, but because my BMI was over 25 they still had to do this extra test. It only cost about $15 CAD more though.
