My wife lives in Canada (I live in Germany) and I can use her address, so that wouldn't be an issue.

How long does it take from landing to getting the PR? Or does the PR just get sent to the Canadian address when it's been approved?

I guess I'll have to wait and see how long the process takes then. Thanks Gary.

The pr card is sent now after 54 days but it might be different when you land.
You can give your wife's address and she can send it to you so you can reenter canada

Going by your username, I am going to guess you are of Indian origin.

And here is the problem:Someone starts a rumor and it spreads like a wildfire, especially within Indian community - no offense. Someone somewhere probably knew someone who was able to sponsor spouse in 3-6 months (for whatever reason... the person might be sponsoring their spouse from a country where it is processed much faster - say US Outland (compared to New Delhi), or the sponsor had their own PR application and just needed to add spouse's name), and then they see this case and start thinking files are getting processed faster.

People keep hearing about these rumors from their co-workers, but at this point of time, this forum is the best place to be if you want to get an idea of what time is it taking right now.

one is a travel agent he said he heard from his sources in Canada, Second person said he heard it on the radio news, third heard from his colleagues.

I didn't find it somewhere else.... If anyone of you can confirm it from ur sources in Canada then please post it here..

I really think it's a rumour. I heard a rumour that they were going to make spousal sponsorships easier/faster but nothing has changed yet and I don't think it will change unless they get a lot more staff.

I'd be wary of any supposed changes to processing times, unless it is either published on the CIC website, or if there is a clear trend of quicker processing as evident on the spreadsheets on thsi forum.

I think the spreadsheets here are more accurate than any information found on the internet, as they are the only measure of how quick CIC are actually working.

Thank you Fawzietrim for your reply. So I'm not forced to stay in Canada until I get the card? Because if time gets really tight regarding the time frame I have to land, I won't be able to quit my job, pack my things and leave right away.
Making my wife send it to me is a really good idea and I have no clue why I didn't think of that ??? haha

No of course you can leave and your wife when she receives it she sends it to you with courier

Awesome! Congrats. How long did it take? I actually don't plan on moving until next spring. I'm worrying that they're going to be too fast. I thought the average for Rome was 1 year but actually it seems to be 6 months. Anyway, we should move before the medical exam expired. I don't want to pay that 320 euros again that we can use towards shipping some of our stuff. How are you all planning on moving all your things? I mean, I guess I have to let go of a lot but there is still a lot to move.

It just took one day to have the app pkg delivered to the Mississauga, that's really fast. I don't need to worry about moving, Me and my wife is living in Canada now. But I know, moving home is such a pain... Good luck!

Thanks. I'm going to throw out a lot of things here. My husband refuses to do a garage sale or something like that, says it's not done in Italy and no one will come and we just gotta give away or throw away things. I'm looking for ways to sell things too because throwing away is just a waste. I already mailed a box of things including the entire Buffy the Vampire series. All 7 series of them. I have things that I just can't part with. lol.
I'm going to probably mail out more boxes of things that I can't part with and then take extra luggage on the plane. I have my cat as well. Got her a passport last week. It's so cute with the European logo on the front. That's cool cause she's a European Shorthair too.
