Got RCMP request today.

We don't have a column for RCMP request it seems. So I've put it in the Additional Docs Request.

Any idea how this RCMP request. The website is not that clear. Though I already booked a fingerprinting service appointment just now.

Thanks!

I guess you are not the only one who was asked for RCMP clearance... pNick was also asked for it: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/got-rcmp-request-today-april-2014-applicant-t213605.0.html
and I received my AOR at the same date as you guys and now I'm wondering if I'll get the same request...

We have the same timeline....

Wow, that's good! Things are moving faster than I expected. So, you basically are going to get your RCMP certificate and fingerprints and send them over by mail, right?

As far as I understand, based on the website, I need to go to OPP (I'm in Ontario) then they will send the file to CPC-O. And it should take 3 business days faster than mail.

Am I right? Can anybody confirm this? Thank a lot!

Hi,
I have already submitted my canadian police certificates(RCMP) , with my initial documents.
Do they ask me again?
I am still waiting for my AOR, expected in a day or two.

Mypr2014, Is it fingerprint based or name based clearance letter?
See at below link

Thanks,

Hi Pnick,
It is fingerprint based, done by rcmp registered vendor and certificate sent by RCMP with fingerprints

Thanks,

Thanks for providing this link! Please, take a look to the following paragraph wrote by another user. Is this true?

CIC automatically does a name-based RCMP check of criminal records for all applicants. That's why it is not required to include a PCC from Canada. But if the name based check is not clear, you have to get your fingerprints done.
If you had already sent a finger-print based clearance, I 'm not sure why they've requested a new one, but sometimes it's easier to just do it.

Does it mean that If your name is probably more common than others and the name-based check of criminal records fails, you will be requested a RCMP. Is this correct? It would be nice to clarify this, so people don't freak out because they haven't received it yet.

GOT MY AOR!!!! :D

PS. The email says my cert. cheque was deposited on May 13 (not the 16 like I thought). FYI for tracking purposes.

Good luck everyone!
