It is fingerprint based, done by rcmp registered vendor and certificate sent by RCMP with fingerprints

I will be getting my fingerprint done on Thursday. Does this mean that I only need to go to RCMP vender (OPP in my case) then they will be the one to send RCMP then will RCMP send this to CIC? or do I need to fill up a form or do something else.

Cabalen, I went to RCMP vendor (Commissionaires), I saw them email printout of RCMP request from CPC-O, passport, work permit and driving licence. They entered my all information in the system and verified with me then they took my picture and fingerprints. The result will be sent to CIC(Address in the email). They haven't ask me to fill up any form.

Thanks a lot pNick! I won't be going to RCMP Commissionaires but to local police station. I assumed it has the same process as the commissionaires.

I received email yesterday requesting RCMP for my wife although I am principle applicant. Doesn't make sense but wil provide paper just for sake of it. I am Indian & wife is British. Anyone had such request?

Glad to hear April processing is fastened and couple of guys also received RCMP. Hope this momentum continues

Quick question - I and my spouse are Indian and we have a plan to go on vacation on 1st of July and return 1st of Sep 2014 to Canada. Incase if CRA requested RCMP either of us when we are in vacation, Do we have a facility to get RCMP done from India.

Alternatively I am also thinking to get RCM done upfront before 1st of July while we are in Canada. But I have heard to book an appointment, first you should received email request from CRA and need to show them in order to get it done. is it True? Is there way I can book an appointment for RCMP without having letter from CRA and submit it in advance.
