My e-cas status is rvo with the fllowing details :

We received your application for permanent residence on December 10, 2010

We received your application and sent you a letter on March 4, 2011. Please consider delays in main delivert before contacting us.

What does it implies? is this a good sign? what to expect next? or what is the next step or process in my application? please share.
Hi - have you received an email from CIO yet? That reads to me like they mailed you (usually by email) confirmation of eligiblity review (positive or negative) on 4th March 2011. If you had your PER then the 4th March line simply means this is when they sent you your PER (confirmation of positive eligibility review).

Wayne.

4 applicants under Manila VO got decision made status in their ecas last week after 2 weeks of receiving 2nd aor. Last Monday 1 of them confirmed of receiving a refusal letter stating that they did not meet the score of 67 points, which came to our understanding that visa offices still re assess our application. A PER is not a final eligibility review then as what they had stated. So now I'm worried until we can't get hold of our MR, we are not safe. :)
what!!!
i thought PER was final eligibility review and VO only does background checks b4 issuing MR.....

can't these 4 applicants send their PER copy to VO to inform that they have already received a PER which means they sure had given them a score of 67 pts....

goshhhh.....this immigration to Canada thing is full of surprises and shocks....

don't know what to expect next!!!!!

My husband did it on a two week visit (which Wayne knows and which is probably why he knew he could say it with confidence!). There's the proof.
Lots of research, lots of late-night calls and basically a lot of effort. No, the web pages are a rubbish way for people to find work in Canada. There is no point relying on web links like Job Bank as if you are not legally entitled to work in Canada at the point you apply because they will just bin your application. Canadians are not good with e-mail. They prefer personal contact and I for one can see why - it is the resort of people who do not make an effort. My advice to anyone really wanting or needing to find their job first is do your research on companies that might be interested in what you have to offer and call them personally. Then prove to them that you are serious by making the expensive journey and it can be done.
I am very surprised that anyone should expect any country to be interested in people who think that they can just fire off an e-mail CV and voila! a job will be offered to them.
Many people told us to give up as we weren't on the list but we refused to listen when they said it was impossible and kept on trying anyway.
Canada is a well-of country with a lot to offer to immigrants. Surely it is worth the effort? Cat 1 is actually a very easy route if you qualify for it. It costs some money and time, yes, but other than that it is just waiting.
Those of us without the benefit of being on the list have had to put way more effort into just getting to this stage than Cat 1s, for instance in our case my OH giving up his secure job here, over 7 months of separation from our partner, paying two lots of living expenses and hundreds of pounds we could ill afford for flights to see one another just twice in that time. Cat 1s who are moaning should ask themselves exactly what they have personally risked or sacrificed so far in this process and in most cases the answer will be nothing.
They say getting a job offer and LMO is next to impossible now. Only the very strong, committed and resourceful manage it and those qualities are what Canada wants. We are prepared to prove to Canada that we deserve a place there through our efforts.
People should remember that Canada is protecting its people with these regulations and requirements.
Immigration is not run for the good of the potential immigrant but for the good of the country.
Be glad you are currently meeting their criteria and have this chance.
BTW, I am in no way trivialising the fickle attitude of some government departments in other countries to issuing Visas but there are people who manage it. Effort and Luck are required to win the day.
Well said, I totally agree!
We also got a joboffer after making hundreds of phonecalls, a 2 week trip ( no vacation but worked hard!) to Canada and went home with a joboffer!
It's not impossible, you HAVE to put a lot of effort and money in to it and proof the employer that you are genuine and very willing to work for him!
We've managed to get 7 interviews and each employer we spoke told us that they appriciated and were very impressed that we took the time, money en effort to come to Canada "just" for an interview!
Sure, getting a visa with AEO/LMO is a struggle and a long, long way but hopefully in the end it was worth it! If not, at least you can say to yourself: at least I've tried everything....
And like i've said before, the processingtimes for FSW1 are very short these days and still people are complaining about the "long wait!"
My AEO was approved after 30 weeks, that's even longer then the processingtime for a FSW1 visa nowadays! And still I haven't got anything, because a joboffer without a visa is still worthless.....

Kind regards,
Louise!

PS: my heart goes out to the post june applicants.....

Seems not.

Once again CIC put themselves on dodgy legal grounds by confirming, in writing, that an application has received a FINAL positive determination of eligibility, only for one of their satellite offices (and remember CIO and visa office are BOTH Citizenship and Immigration Canada) to contradict their decision. If you get a NER from visa office after PER from CIO definitely definitely query it, ask visa office to justify it. Personally I would consider not only an appeal but also legal action if it really came down to it - since they are going back on what they've already confirmed in writing.

Thankfully we have 76 points so no chance of a points re-assessment failing us, however my wife has performed only 50% of the duties on her NOC, split across 2 jobs and 4 years - so I hope they don't "reassess" and decide she is not eligible because of NOC duties.

I thought once we got PER, since NOC duties was the only place we could realistically fail, that we were 99% sure to get the visa. No with each passing day without MR brings that tiny bit more doubt in my mind.... :(

I may just be paranoid, but this process seems designed to induce paranoia!

Wayne.

Hi this sounds like you failed at the eligibility review at the visa office?

I would say they should return your full file, but Kittu says that they keep it (which I still struggle to believe, but there you go).

IMO send a case specific query to CIO enquiring why you failed and also when you can expect your documents back. I am fairly sure it is theft unless you specifically signed something allowing them to keep all the records, so I personally don't think they have any right to keep all your original documents.

Sorry to hear that your application failed :(
Wayne.
unfortunately he got NER in first place from CIO because officer was not satisfied by duties mentioned in his work experience letter.

Hi lizz,

Just wanna share this to you and all of you here, according to my consultant we can be sure that vo or cio wont give as a refusal or denial letter until we are requested to have medicals. So MR is the most impt thing we should receive to say that our app were approved by canada :)
