Dear Seniors

My 5 months old son have hypospadias with minor cordies. I have consulted to 2-3 MD Urologist (Surgeon) for his treatment bcos I wanted to do his treatment in India before our landing to Canada. But all of them told me that it can be treated @ age 18 Months and later. We can't wait for that long as our Visa will be invalid by that time next year.

I'm wonder if he can go under treatment it in Canada after landing. Bit scared as he is a small baby and I've no idea about Canadian medical system. Shall that treatment be free for my son?

Need urgent help of u all..Please do reply, thanks in Advance

health care is free in canada but PR get health card only after 3 months

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/after-health.asp

http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/public/programs/ohip/

There may be a three-month waiting period for your OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) coverage.

Generally speaking, if you are a newcomer to Ontario, or a former resident returning here to live after being out of the country for more than seven months, the waiting period begins on the date you establish or re-establish residence in Ontario. You may also be required to be present in Ontario for 153 days of the first 183 days immediately following the date residence is established in Ontario (you cannot be absent for more than 30 days during the first 6 months of residence).

If you are not covered by another province/territory, it is important to buy private health insurance to cover you until your Ontario health insurance coverage becomes effective.

Dear Rawlin/Jaggi

Thnx for the prompt replies. Very helpfull indeed. I also feel that they pick my application based on NOC as only 20 applications were recd in this category. And as far as funds are concerned I had shown less funds then required. But will be sending now.

Also wish those who r waiting get some good news fast.

If you had showed funds taking into consideration the currency fluctuation, they would have never asked for updated POF

dear for us the process of stamping is 2 mins......for them its taking hundred of things into considerations......there is a fixed no. of FSW visas allotted VOwise.....to accomodate that quota for every appln, it takes varying no. of time to get visas stamped.....U can say destiny play a big part in it......and how much badly is ur NOC/occupation skillset reqd in Canada. ;)

Dear not sure, you have provided the best link to me, thanks a lot. If we would be landing in Aug 2012 then my son have to go through surgery in Aug 2013. 153 days are almost 5 Months which will be done in Jan/feb 2013.

Please guide me about private health insurance to cover which I think is required for my family for first 5 months(please provide the cost and cover for me,wife and son..)
Secondly, does hypospadias treatment will be free after we get medical card from ontario? Is there any waiting for such kind of treatment?

bless u bro

well CPP OTTAWA might get delayed as it is taking them time to set up the processing unit for transfer applicants

Files from Buffalo, cario etc are all going thru them so again its a mix mess as buffalo already had a huge backlog and also lot of new FSW2 / Phd / CEC processed from there
