They don't want a proof of sponsor's DOB. They want a birth certificate of the sponsor, as a proof of relationship between the sponsor (children) and the person being sponsored ( parents).

I am not sure about that. I had asked my parents, who are in India to get the birth certificate made. Just in case I get the invitation for the sponsorship.

You need your birth certificate for sure, if you are the sponsor.

Parents birth certificate is only required, when you are sponsoring your grandparents. To show the relationship between your grandparents and parents.

You need your birth certificate to prove your relationship with your parents.

Do they send invites on the basis of initials? Or is it just an assumption ?

I don't know what's going on with IRCC ? Seems like no one got the invitation. There is no news on twitter as well.
