As some of you may k now, I've been monitoring closely job postings by CIC (thru the federal public service website - http://jest-orae.psc-cfp.gc.ca/JEST-ORAE/advsrch.do)

Search criteria:
1) Program - All Program
2) Select a city - Ottawa
3) Job category - All categories
4) Organization - Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada
then hit "Search for Jobs"

There's been some updates.
Just a few days ago, CIC posted "various positions available" with a "view list" link (http://jest-orae.psc-cfp.gc.ca/JEST-ORAE/vwlctns.do?adv=202382) under the location column

If you click on that link, you'll notice positions available in Ottawa too. Which previously they didn't have any.
Hopefully they are increasing their staff force to accommodate for the increase workload of processing our applications

I got my document request today. They asked me for the original PCC issued in Feb 2012, proof of funds and 6 month bank history, and my PhD program information (i.e. field of study, name and contact details of my supervisor, CV and publication list).
They also asked for my wife's original copy of PCC.
I sent the translation of PCC with my application. Now they asked for the original PCC (issued in Feb. 2012) and they said that it should be translated. I am wondering if I should send the original one and the translation or the original one is enough since they have the translation in file.

You applied in May too like Ehsan. Either they are just sampling which I can not believe or Tyrux's hypothesis is right. BTW, all Iranians must be ready to submit their CV (Sham on them!) and 6 month bank history. Congrat. I hope you do not have any problem regarding your bank history!

Thanks aidina. Actually I have far more than they need. I worked 4 years in Iran and brought all my savings here. I have 50k in my bank account.
Yes, as I said before they are going the way US is going for years. They are making things harder for us. I hope we don't have to wait long for their security check.

You should have sent the original and the translation with a copy of the original attached to your original application. This is the kind of document that is worthy waiting for in order to have a stronger application.
