That is my question too.GrTak said:Hi, I am new to this forum, but I've been reading posts here for a few months. I have a question about settlement funds. A few days ago, Ottawa asked me to send them proof of funds along with an account activity for six months. Wouldn't an account activity for six months serve as proof of funds? Thanks again!
the account activity is just for them to see if the money you claimed as settlement funds is actually yours...they want to see whether there were any huge deposits/huge withdrawals...the proof of funds statement from your bank will tell them your present account balance....GrTak said:Hi, I am new to this forum, but I've been reading posts here for a few months. Why. Do you mind telling us your timeline?ubc2010 said:Am a new user joining the forum. After spent 2 days reading here, I feel that my application will be rejected. ;D
Thanks, I have checked online with my client ID but nothing so far.The_Prince said:keep checking ur credit card, it might be encashed this week or the next week, also keep checking ur status online using ur client ID
Hi aler123, you applied back on December 7. If the current timeline is anything to go by, it would take around 80 days to get PER (again, this may vary from applicant to applicant), so if everything is in order, expect your PER by the end of next month.aler123 said:Thanks, I have checked online with my client ID but nothing so far.
Also, I had another question regarding settlement funds. On average, how long does it take cic to request the bank history statement after having applied? Is there a way to find out?
Thanks.
Thanks asbereth, that sounds about right. For clarification, does cic request the bank statement or other documents (i.e. police certificate) right after they inform about the PER or do they contact with the request for additional documents later on?asbereth said:Hi aler123, you applied back on December 7. Also, regarding bank history, it took some of our first batch maybe 6 months before they started getting these requests from Ottawa, but some of the 2012 applicants only got these requests after a year, since Ottawa went into slumber for like 7 months. It's hard to say, but I would say, maybe around June or July you would hear something from them (maybe bank statement, or, if you're lucky, medical request)?
because as I can see they are not consistent in there decisions, or the criteria they are using to evaluate our applications. BTW, I applied in April 7th, the application received April 10 and I got the PER April 25Uwindsor2009 said:Why are you thinking so ??
If you get PER, they usually ask for supporting documents as asbereth said. At the beginning if you don't submit one or more required documents or if there are some missing information, they send back the whole application.aler123 said:Thanks asbereth, that sounds about right. Thanks a lot!

What is your nationality?GrTak said:Hi, I am new to this forum, but I've been reading posts here for a few months. I have a question about settlement funds. If you dont have large deposit/withdraw in the six months transactions, it will be okay as they just want to make sure about that. The only way they can check and make sure of that, is to look at an account history to see if the money belongs to the applicant or not.GrTak said:Thanks very much for your response, Anjuku! CIO Sydney received my application on 3rd April, 2012
I got my PER on 15th May, 2012
The sent me the email re: proof of funds on 16th January 2013
I don't have any huge withdrawals from my account, so I think that's to my advantage. However, I didn't have the required amount all the time during the past six months. There's three of us in this application, so the base amount should be around $17,100 (I don't remember the exact figure though). Initially, I showed a couple thousand more than the required minimum, but my bank statements during two months within the past six show around $4,000 less than the required sum, and around $2000 less for December. Do you think I should be worrying?
I have never borrowed money from anyone. The money is mine and since April I have had to spend some of it, especially during the summer when I wasn't working, but went away for a field work. I am expecting to get paid by my university in a couple of days and the minimum sum will be there again (I will have even more money than that). So, basically, the money is mine and I will have the minimum settlement fund, but as I didn't have all ($17,100) during the three months of the past six months, I don't know if I am in a crisis situation!! What do you think? Can anyone please suggest what I should do?
Thanks very much!
I think you should be fine...as long as they don't see huge withdrawals, a couple of months with less than the required amount should be fine..i believe you said you have 60 days to respond...once you get paid by the univ and have the minimum amount, just send in your statements...i'm also an april applicant..but havn't heard anything yet...wha's your nationality by the way?GrTak said:Thanks very much for your response, Anjuku!
