Unfornately in my case, we didn't get it though we have enough points already.
This shows on our CAIPs Report. Don't count on the 5 points, it's risky.

I am unaware of CAIPs. Where I'll get more information about CAIPs....

Is it possible to appeal Visa Office based on CAIPs report ???????

We got 69 points without the 5 points from the Canadian born child.

How many points you got from adaptability......

Max you can get 10.

For example. 1. 5 pts for 2 years study in Canada (According to OP 6 b, Applicant need not required any degree for this)
2. 5pts if spouse has 17 years of full time education
3. 5pts for relative (in my case it is my son)

But one can get only 10 pts from this. All the above three is true in my case

hi smallkick...may i ask why you didn't get the 5 points for your child?...did you already get 10 points from adaptability? from your spouse's education and what else?
I don't know.
There was no explanation on the CAIPs Report. We only got 5 points in total from adaptabliity which is from my spouse's education.

If I am not wrong you should get another 5pt based upon your 2 years study in Canada or for your child. It is clearly written in (OP 6 b application received after 26 June 2010)

Hope VO will make required correction latter. What I think, CIO only checks eligibility so once they found that applicant is eligible, they simply forward the file to VO.....

May be I wasn't lucky. Neither I got points for 2 years study in Canada nor we got the points for Canadian born child.

Hi Uwindsor,

Applicants generally seek CAIPS in order to understand what is going on with their files including timelines on when and what document was/were assessed/scrutinized and how their Visa officer is "THINKING" about the file. He leaves notes and that gives an idea to the applicant if something is wrong with the file and ways to correct/clarify it. Sometimes VO makes a decision to conduct an Interview and he then leaves note about the points he needs clarification about.

It is not a good idea to Appeal based on the CAIPS notes but you can convey your message to VO based on what you have received in your CAIPS. If your deliberations are correct and with proof then the VO may reconsider to re-open your file.

If you provide all the documents asked for your baby, you will be awarded the point. My CAIPS clearly shows it:

Relative in Canada: YES Points:5

I did provide all the docs but still wasn't awarded the 5 points.

Weird. There is no reason they do not award you the points. Did you correctly answer in the form?
They are trying to crack up on "anchor babies/birth tourists", so it may be the case they are (re)considering not given points for babies born here, only other relatives.
