Crossing my fingers here.

Finally got the email, subject PPT REQ, asking for 2 pics and answers to some questions about any changes and addresses. And a pre-paid airway bill.
In the body they reminded us that they have the passport already.

Got new pictures done but the first print seemed a bit big so I got the studio to reprint at at smaller size (the size I refer to was from chin to crown of the head)
You would think that the government would have examples of what chin to crown is, but no. Hopefully the studio got it right.
I ended up sending 2 of each size.

So off I went to DHL (luckily a 10 minute walk) with the prepared package.
Only 2500 pesos from DR to Mexico.
I asked about the pre-paid airway bill and he said that they don't do that anymore.
And that the embassy knows and are ok with the method he described. Reason for this is that the embassy would forget to call for a pickup.
He told me to track the package and when it arrived at it's destination to come back and set up a pickup.
He told me that they would go by the embassy everyday until it was picked up.

Hopefully the passport arrives early next week.

I had a feeling they would be quicker with your visa.
from my husbands interview to passport request it was 7 weeks exactly!

We are not rushed. Plan is to move out of the apartment and spend 2 weeks with her mother on the coast
Then fly out of Puerta Plata to Toronto

34 days interview to PPT REQ email
And I think our overall process will be a month or so shorter than yours.

But until we get the passport in hand I'm crossing all my fingers since there is not much faith in the system
