It was 3500 pesos to send to Mexico and 5500 returned.. assuming because no other courier would touch our passport

even 3500 pesos just to send it there is a lot!
each time my husband had to send something to Mexico, from Santo Domingo it was 2000 pesos, from outside of the capital, it was 2700 pesos

I think it because they knew that nobody else would touch the passport!!

they told us 10 days ago that its ready to be sent back but they needed the photos again, they receieved them a week ago and nothing still!!
most ridiculous wait ever.. they officially have had his passport for 7 weeks!! ahhhhhhh

No news about the passport yet?
a girl from another group, her husband in DR had an interview early May, and passport was taken. She just got an email that the passport is ready to be sent back but they need new photos done and sent with a prepaid airway bill. You must be getting that email anyday!

Stupid thing about the photos. They don't care about us wasting money.
A prepaid airway bill, interesting. Hopefully I can use my friend's UPS or DHL account and get a discount.

Finally got a response to an email sent always 2 weeks ago asking how we were going to get back the passport they took at the interview.
Here's what they wrote:

Please note that this application has not yet been finalized.
Our office will contact you shortly with instructions on the documents that you need to provide for the finalization of your application.

Here's what they wrote:

i don't know why they take long for some and not for others, must be the officer.
they are probably just waiting for the last background checks to be finished.. hope it's soon for you!
it took about 6 weeks from the interview until they asked for his passport for my husband

1 month after the interview where the passport was handed in along with the police clearance, we have NO email with further instructions
Maybe we should be counting from the medical checkup date which was 4 weeks ago.

I wonder if it's Mexico or DR where things get bogged down.

it's going to the VAC in Santo Domingo, all I know is its on the way!
Hopefully by early next week he has it in hand!
